Hi,

Yes,you can take admission in M.tech without giving GATE entrance exam. But you can not join IITs and NITs without GATE.
Other universities conduct their individual entrance tests for M.Tech. You can crack those entrances to get admission into those universities for M.Tech. You can also join in Management seats which is a bit too expensive.

Yes,GATE exam is compulsory in many colleges to get an admission in M.tech through regular mode.But if you want to Pursue it as a distance mode then there is some exemption for that.


VTU offers a 3 year partime course. You can take up the course either by writing PGCET (http://pgcet.vtu.ac.in/) or through all india Gate exams (Priority for Gate candidates). The PGCET exams will generally be conducted somewhere in June/July.

The only criteria for writing PGCET for Part-time M.Tech Course is that you should have scored atleast 55% in BE/B.Tech and should have atleast 3 years Work Experience from the date of Graduation.

if u have high gate scorecard then u can join iit or mit also. u can do Mtech from gbpec ghurdauri also. there is no need of gate but they need % of ur graduation. they prefer gate score. but after they do direct addmission also. so high percentage is necessary for Mtech Biotech..........
