Hello,
There is no one engineering career that you can really say is best for women. Just check through our Directory of Women Engineers to see all the women working in different careers throughout the world. The situation may be different in Pakistan, but engineering itself is certainly not a career that requires you to be either male or female. Choosing the branch that is right for you, is a very personal process. No one can really tell you how to do it, but you can start by looking through the options in our Try on a Career section. Depending on how the degree programs that you are interested in are structured, you may be able to start out in a general engineering major and change it when you are more familiar with the options. Good luck! |

DEAR FRIEND,
First of all.. none of the Branches are limited to any gender. it completely depends on Interest and Hard working. just check her interest, in which field she is interested, what are her abilities..? best way to check is through an Apptitude test... just check centre nearby your locality and get it done. in this test.several questions, in a group of 25, on various fields are asked... the group in which she scores high is best suited for her... thanks |

Hai Friend,
In order to succeed in life, you must have certain Fixed Goals and by any cost you need to achieve them. Today, If you ask most people what is their one major objective in life, they would probably give you a vague answer, such as, "I want to be successful, be happy, make a good living," and that is it. They are all wishes and none of them are clear goals. Goals must be SMART: 1. S--specific. For example, "I want to lose weight." This is wishful thinking. It becomes a goal when I pin myself down to "I will lose 10 pounds in 90 days." 2. M--must be measurable. If we cannot measure it, we cannot accomplish it. Measurement is a way of monitoring our progress. 3. A--must be achievable. Achievable means that it should be out of reach enough to be challenging but it should not be out of sight, otherwise it becomes disheartening. 4. R--realistic. A person who wants to lose 50 pounds in~30 days is being unrealistic. 5. T--time-bound. There should be a starting date and a finishing date. So, fix your goal and Start chasing your goals. Finally what I want to say is that, you fix a goal and select the stream which takes you to reach your goals. Work Hard. All the best. |

Dear Friend,
* Do not try to limit yourself. Girls can even face challenges and achieve loads. So, you may consider taking the stream in which you are interested. * Now, coming to your question, the most suited branch for girls is computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering and information technology. * These streams would best suite for girls because you will have to work only in front of a computer in software companies and hardware companies. Best wishes :-) |

Dear aspirants,
The branches which we are going to take is not depend on the gender, but it mostly depends on our interest.Based on our interest we have take our desired branch. Now a days most of girls taking the branches like CSE,ECE,CHEM.They are thinking themselves they are unfit to other branches like Mechanical, civil,EEE.But if girls have interest in those branches they can take the those branches also. Now a days girls are not taking Mechanical, they are less mechanical girls are there in indiA,because they thinking that mechanical engineering involves physical work but that was not correct.Mechanical is also a branch like others which deals with the concepts of machines and vehicles etc. Finally i would like to conclude that the girls can take any branch of their interest. |

Yes why not... There is no particular branch branded for girls. Nowadays girls have entered the field of
aeronautics and even some work as pilots. And girls prove their ability in all difficult streams of engineering. so you go for engineering in your choice. |

It is fact that you will find more Male Colleges then Female in Engineering field, but we all know that sex doesn't matters for that, weather Male or Female. Engineering requires some Talents and Abilities and any who have that is able to be an Engineer.
But thinking Practically is your Question is Right ! So, I think these days following Branches are Better to opt for Females:- BE/B.Tech (Computer Engineering or IT):- We are seeing a rapid increase in number of Female CSE/IT Graduates. One of the major reason for this is Job in this field includes major work part in Office, I mean one stop solution under a floor/ Office building, No onsite works mainly offsite works. Architecture :- Today Architecture is also one of the best option for Female candidates. This because compare to Male counterparts Females have better Artistic abilities and Intellectual bent of Mind which is very important in this field. Biotechnology/Microbiology:- This is an Engineering field in India which Evidence 60% Professionals/Students are Females. Which is also a rapid growing sector in India with some promising career possibilities. |

Hello I am interested in Petroleum Engg(downstream sector), is it preferable for girls? I am extremely interested in organic chemistry, so I want to take up this branch and since i do not want to manage drilling operations and all that, so i want to take up the downstream sector. If not Petroleum, then i'll like to do chemical engineering. Please give your views.

Through years it's proven that both girls & boys are equally talented for any kind of course, thus bearing equal potential of success. However, as per today's social scenario, the best engineering branch recommended for girls is Computer Science & IT, as the application activities on this field is of home-based type and will not demand travelling or other physical activities, thus suiting to the preference of majority of the girls.
However, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architecture or likes are other examples as the recommended brach for Girls. |

In my opinion, choosing among the most popular engineering branch depends on many factors, which is mostly based on our interest. So, today girls can take any branch according to their interest. But I've chosen IT.
