My dob is 17.01.1985 and a b.tech can i join army

my son is in 12 th std...he is having a good height and physic....and good in sports too...the problem is he has taken tha commerce stream with economics and political science...........is there any chance to join in army...........whiich he is so much interested.......! my mail id is [email protected] for the reply..

CDS is the Combined Defence service examination conducted for the selection in defence service as an officer. The minimum education qualification required for this exam is graduation.

The complete eligibility criteria for this exam is given below:

1.Minimum academic qualifications

(i) For IMA and OTA :-If a candidate is applied for the IMA and OTA through this entry mode the minimum education qualification is Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

(ii) For Naval Academy :-If a candidate is applied for the Naval Academy through this entry mode the minimum education qualification is Degree in Engineering.

(iii) For Air Force Academy :-If a candidate is applied for the Air Force through CDS entry then the minimum eduaction qualification is Degree from a recognized University. Also the candidate have Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering.

AGE LIMIT:
The minimum age limit for the IMA and OTA, Naval Academy and Air force Academy is given below:

1.For IMA
19 - 24 years

2.For OTA
19 - 25 years

3.For NA
19 - 22 years

4.For AFA
19 - 23 years

So if you fulfill the above eligibility criteria then you are eligible to appear for the CDS exam.

10+2 pass students with Physics , Chemistry , Maths with average of 70% in the class

12th are eligible for it.

Minimum height requirement is 157.5 cm with 5 cm chest expansion and eyesight

upto 6/6 of both the eyes.

Yes,you can join in Indian Army by appearing CDS exam/SSC exam.
As you your pursuing B-tech,you can apply for those exam even final year also,if your age is between 19 to 24 year for CDS exam and age is between 19 1/2 to 25 year for SSC exam.

there are various post in indian army and depending on the post the age limit varies.

but i think as you will not cross 25 when you will complete your B.Tech then you will be eligible for all post by age limit.

You can appear in Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam to join Indian Army.
Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam is generally conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) to recuirt the Indian Military Academy(IMA), Officers Training Academy(OTA), Naval Academy and Air Force Academy(AFA)

According to the Eligibility Criteria:

i)For IMA and OTA you must have any degree from any recognized University.

ii)For Naval Academy you should have B.Sc in Physics or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering(BE).

iii)For (AFA) you should have the degree of recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering(BE)

Age Limit:

i)For IMA:19-24 Years

ii)For OTA:19-23 Years

iii)For Naval Academy:19-22 Years

iv)For AFA :19-25 Years

If you wish to become a part of the Indian Army after your graduation, then you have to sit for the SSC Short Service Commission exam for the post of Graduate Technical men.

You should be a graduate in any discipline and your age should be within limits 21-27 at the time you are applying for the SSC.

So you can go ahead after the successful completion of your graduation.

You want to serve the nation, which is really appreciable, as you are doing graduation in engineering,
that's why you can apply in all the combat branches of Indian army i.e. Air wing, naval wing & in military branch.
For apply in these forces, you must have to clear the CDSE [COMBINED DEFENSE SERVICE EXAMINATION], which is conducted by UPSC [UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION] every years.

For appear in this examination you must have a graduation degree from a recognized college,.
But for apply in naval & in air force wing, you must have engineering degree or equivalent degree from a recognized college with the minimum marks of at least 60%.
The age limit for this examination is 19-23 years [for air force]
19-24 years [for the naval]
19-25 years [for IMA military].

Last years candidates can also apply.

also one must have Indian nationality with marital status UNMARRIED.

Minimum candidate should complete 12th class with PCM stream.

Age Limit: Age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.

Citizenship: Indian

NDA-I exam notification:

Issue of application form from 31st Dec 2011 to 30th Jan 2012.

Exam will held on 15th April 2012.

NDA-II exam notification:

Issue of application form from 5th May 2012 to 4th June 2012.

Exam will held on 19th Aug 2012.
