There are several schemes for engineer in the INDIAN ARMY.UES-
University Entry Scheme is for those of you who wish to apply for Army in Pre-Final/Final Year of Engineering. Those of you who have completed your BE/B Tech in notified streams can also apply.the selected candidates joins the IMA.INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY,thereby being posted at the Lieutenant posts.
Then there is SSC (SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION)TECHNICAL. for which you need complete your engineering degree.You should be medically fit for all this.

You can join army either through CDS exam only after completing graduation or through University entry Schme.
Since you are 21 you cannot appear for NDA exam.
you can apply for soldiers post.

yes, you are eligible for defence exams such as NDA.if you want to be a soldier then in through the employment news.there will be physical & mental ability test.
OK, BEST OF LUCK.

You can even go through the CDS exam after completing your graduation course.You can even go through SSB board and officer's academy after completing your graduation course.
You can even attend the exam when your in the fourth year itself through University Entry Scheme.

for joining army as a officer you would have applied for NDA after 12th class since you didn't and age also exceed the maximum limit to join army after 12th class that is 19years
and after B.E you can apply but for that you must have to complete your B.E first without that you are not eligible !!
so complete your graduation first!!

No,you cannot join INDIAN ARMY now as your age has exceeded

19n a half which is eligible for IMA for 10+2 technical entry scheme.but you

can surely join army through Technical Graduate Course. Those of you who

have completed BE/B Tech in notified streams can also join IMA through

Technical Graduate Course. The duration of training is 1 year. Look out for

the advertisement published in leading newspapers/employment news in

Apr/Nov every year.

The min qualification for joining army is +2 from a recognised board. you are +2 passed so you are eligible for the joining indian army . For more information please go to www.indianarmy.nic.in

My dear friend you did not tell your academic qualification so that I can suggest you.But the minimum criteria is you must pass your 12th standard with Physics,Chemistry and mathematics as subject.
Here I'm giving you all the information regarding INDIAN ARMY.

To become an Indian Army you will have to sit for NDA examination organized by UPSC twice in every year.

Eligibility Criteria :

>>You must pass your 12th standard with Physics,Chemistry and mathematics
>>Your age must be within 16.5 to 19 years.
>>Minimum 165 cm height is required here.
>>6/6 eyesight.

If you have these criteria then you should apply for NDA so that you become
an Indian Army.

NDA [NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY], exam is conducted by the union public service commission UPSC every year.
For appear in this examination, you must possess 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

For NAVAL & AIR FORCE WING ,you must have +2 with (10th +2) pattern in school education and must have physics and mathematics as subjects

The candidates must be a citizen of India.

The candidates must be a unmarried male candidate.

The candidates must have a age limit of 16 1/2-19 years.

NDA is the National Defense Academy and it is an entrance exam organized by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission every year to select candidates for the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.


There are certain Basic Eligibility Criteria's which need to be met by the applicants :


1. You should be an Unmarried Male Indian National.

2. You should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school or state board of India scoring more than 50% aggregate in it.

3. Your AGE SHOULD BE WITHIN 16.5 - 19 YEARS.

4. If you want to apply for the Indian Naval or Air Force wings, then make sure that you have studied Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects in your HS.

5. You should be physically fit.


Now as you say, that you are already 22, I am really sorry to say that now you are over age and so cannot apply for the NDA I.

NDA II is another exam which is also conducted by the UPSC itself. This exam is for those candidates who have completed their graduation in any stream.

The age limit for this exam is 21-25 years.

So once you finish your B.E, You may apply for this exam, to get in the army.

This exam usually is held in the month of August, so for this year its already over. You can try once you are in the final year of your B.E.

Please ask your question very clearly because you dont have mention your age as well as your qualifications.
Then how can anyone can give the answer of your question.
But If you wants to go in the ARMY SECTOR then you should take science streams with maths in 11th std.
If you are from ARTS stream then you are not eligible for the NDA entrance exams and hence not eligible to join "ARMY"

The subjects which are required for the NDA entrance exams are-->>
PHYSICS,CHEMISTRY AND MATHS.
and in the ARTS streams there is no such subjects.Hence science stream is very necessary for NDA

Only then aftre you can go for the NDA entrance exams conducted for the 12th std students.
