Dear Friend

The Company Secretary course comprises of three courses.
1. Foundation Course
2. Executive Course
3. Professional Course

One is supposed to qualify the first course to be eligible for 2nd course and
to qualify the 2nd course to be eligible for 3rd course.

As you are graduate you are not required to qualify Foundation course and
so you can directly apply for Executive course.

There is no percentage restriction as such.

All 12th passed candidates are eligible for Foundation course and
all graduates are eligible for Executive course.

You are supposed to register early for admission to the course,
before a particular cut off date.

the cut-off dates are:

28th February
For appearing in both modules in December examination of the same year

31st May
For appearing in single module in December examination of the same year

31st August
For appearing in both modules in June examination of the next year

30th November
For appearing in single module in June examination of the next year

Once you are registered with the institution you can apply for the exams
as mentioned above.

You should have at least 60% aggregate through out the degree course for being eligible for MNC recruitment process . Also you should have other requirements which are needed for MNC's like technical skills ...

So , here is the list of criteria for MNC's

You need to be degree holder of BE/B.Tech or MCA .
You need to have 60% marks in above for being eligible .
You need to not have any current backlog .
You need to have good communication and logical skills .

Company secretary has good scope in future -

eligibility -

- pass in +2 or equivalent.

age limit-
The minimum age required to apply for the program is 17 years.

The aspirants must have a good command over English language.

institutes -

- ICSI New Delhi; ICSI-SIRC House, Chennai etc.

- After the program you can work in financial firms, private companies and banks.

- The job covers arranging meetings, recording decisions and collecting information.

- For junior secretaries the remuneration ranges from Rs.8000 to Rs.15000 plus per month.

- There are foundation and executive programs. The applicants can get more information from the website of ICSI.

Company Secretary is distance education course type course it can be done along with any other course.

There are no/few classes in this course.

It is not a regular course and can be done from anywhere in INDIA.

There is no requirement of any percentage of marks for admission to CS Course.

CS - COMPANY SECRETARY course managed and conducted by ICSI(Institute of Company Secretary of India) is a correspondence course and can be taken any time of a year.

The CS course is divided in to three programs:-

FOUNDATION PROGRAM-The candidate having completed 12th in any stream is eligible for this program.

EXECUTIVE PROGRAM-The candidate having either completed Foundation program or having completed Graduation Degree inany stream from a recognised University is eligible directly for this program.

PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM-The candidate having completed Executive program is eligible for this program.

Apart from this the candidate has to undergo a 15 months practical training before finally certified as a Company Secretary by ICSI.

The company secretary course is monitored by the Institute of Company Secretaries. The service of the officers who have done this course is needed for the overall development of the company's management. They works as a Corporate Planner and Strategic Manager too.

In the following three stages the company secretary course has been divided:-

• Foundation Programme
• Executive Programme
• Professional Programme

To sit for the foundation programme you need to pass higher secondary examination successfully or its equivalent from a recognized school or institution. Following areas needs to be given special importance when preparing for this programme: English and Business Communication, Economics and Statistics Financial Accounting, Elements of Business Laws and Management. The course needs to be finished within three months from the date of admission. The full duration of the course is eight months.

You dont need to sit for the foundation programme if you have completed graduation, post graduation or have passed in the final exam of ICWAI or ICAI then you can sit for the executive programme directly. But if you are going through the three stages strictly then on successfully completing the first programme you will be allowed to do this one provided your age is 17 years or more. Areas of weightage: Module I:- General and Commercial Laws, Company Accounts and Cost & Management Accounting and Tax Laws. Module II: Company Law, Economic, Labour Laws and Securities Laws and Compliances.

For the professional programme you need to register nine months in an advance before the exam starts. Areas of weightage: Module I: Company Secretarial Practice and Drafting, Appearances and Pleadings. Module II: Financial, Treasury and Forex Management and Corporate Restructuring & Insolvency. Module III: Strategic Management, Alliances and International Trade and Advanced Tax Laws and Practice. Module IV: Due Diligence and Corporate Compliance Management and Governance, Business Ethics and Sustainability.

You can get good jobs in the following sectors: Private companies, consulting firms, financial institutions, banks, Department of company affairs and other regulatory bodies. Remuneration depends on the post you are holding.

• Junior Secretarial Office-Rs. 8000+/month
• Deputy Company Secretary Rs. 12000+/month
• Company Secretary Rs. 15000+/month
• Financial Controller Rs. 25000+/month
