Since the CAT exam forms are closed for this years. So I proposed date schedule is given below:
Sale of CAT brochure: Last week of August to First week of October,2011
Registration date: Starting from sale date to 3 more days after sale date .
Test date: Test will be organised in whole November month.

Exam Info:

Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes including initial 15 minute tutorial. No breaks will be given during the test.
Pattern: The test consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s quantitative, verbal, and logical & data interpretation abilities. Therefore, there are a total of three sections in the test. There will be about 60 questions in the test.

After Btech or in final year you can appear in cat and you must score above 98.5 percentile to get admission in IIM.
IIm ahemdabad is the best one in all IIMS.
CAT exam conducts every year in a NOV-DEC.
From last year CAT exam is online .

So work hardly for clearing the MAT exam and get admission in I I M.

It is a good thing that you want to go for higher studies and have decided to go for MBA.
Most students are confused about what to do after graduation.
Nowadays, graduation is simply not enough and one needs to go for post graduation as well.

After BTech you can go for MBA for post graduation
If you wish to join the premier B-Schools i.e the IIMs then you must appear for the entrance test conducted for the same at an All India level.
IIMs conduct the Common Admission Test or CAT each year to select eligible students into their institutes.
It comprises of an online exam. If you score a good percentile then you may get a call from the various IIMs for an interview.
There you have go through Group Discussions, One on One interview and various other selection processes.

I am B.Tech third year student.I wish to appear CAT 2011 exam. But I havea problem. I have audies. I will be able to clear my B.Tech all papers by June end 2012. Will I be able to be eligible for interviews for IIMs evenif If I secure good percentile.

Admission procedure..for getting seat in IIM's is

first you should have a degree in any stream...

no matter what degree it is ..

then you have to write the most rigor exam i.e., CAT (Common Admission test)

If you can successfully clear this exam then

you need to attend an interview by any one of the IIM's

and that's all

you'll get a seat in IIM..

this is all procedure of getting a seat in IIM after your B.tech...

Application form for the B.Tech Course

The applications are normally available from the month of November. It varies from state to state. Students who are in the 12th standard too can apply for the exam. They should have completed their course at the time of counseling. The form will include information like

•Name of the Candidate
•Date of Birth
•Gender/ Caste
•Education Qualification
•Permanent and Current Address
•Telephone Number
In the education qualification details like the 10th and 12th Marks, name of the institute, board will need to be provided. Also information like Physical Disabilities, Domicile status will need to be mentioned. It is a must that the parents or guardian sign the form.

Documents required for admission to the B.Tech Course

The candidates need to paste their latest photograph on the form. Some ask for an additional photograph for the hall ticket. Also along with the form the candidate may be required to attach proof of the documents like the educational qualification, school leaving certificate. Also those who belong to the SC/ST, OBC or are physically challenged will need to attach copy of the documents proving the same.

Cancellation of Admission

If any of the forms are not filled in correctly the same will be rejected. Incomplete forms too will be rejected. So it is important to fill the form cautiously. Also it is important that the true information is mentioned in the form. As if it is found that the information provided in not true the admission will be rejected

Admission Criteria of CAT and IIMs
Every year students find themselves in confusion about any difference in the eligibility criteria of IIM and CAT. This article will resolve all your confusion about the eligibility criteria of IIM and CAT.

Indian Institute of Management IIMs take CAT as a common test for admission. To appear for CAT candidate has to satisfy some eligibility criteria.

Broad Eligibility Criteria of CAT

50% marks or equivalent CGPA in Bachelor’s (45% for SC, ST and DA).
University should be recognized by UGC or MHRD, Government of India.
Apart from the above basic eligibility requirement if you apply for any domain specific programme like Post Graduate Programme in Agri-business Management offered by IIM-A, then you have to pass the eligibility requirement of the programme also.

Like for PGP-ABM offered by IIM-A requires a bachelor or master degree in Agriculture or Agriculture related discipline with 50% marks (45% for SC, ST and DA). But the PGP programme offered at IIM-A doesn’t demand any special criteria to be fulfilled apart from that of CAT.

So before applying for any programme at IIM which is domain specific, check for the eligibility criteria. These programmes include executive management programme, management programme related to a particular sector and management programme for professionals like engineers.

After btech or engg management course means making a technomanager.IIM were known as mecca of MBA means top institute in india offering management degree.admission to iim are done on the basis of CAT Score (common admission test conducted by IIMs) and group discussion and interview done individually by each institute.eligibilty for CAT exam is graduation, there is no relaxation to any stream whether it may be btech. It is also treated as normal graduation candidate.and other than CAT no other options available for admission to IIM.

yes, after b.tech you can take admission in IIMs.

but to get admission in the IIMs you have to give CAT exam.

and you have to get good percentile score to get chance in IIMs.

the eligibility criteria for the CAT exam are

>>minimum degree qualification affiliated by the Indian govt.

In order to join the IIMs (Indian Institute of Management)..you need to appear for the CAT(Common Admission Test)

If you score a percentile of over 97 then you can get admission into your desired IIM with your desired branch..

The exam mainly tests you vocabulary knowledge and basic maths..

You need to appear in CAT Entrance test for getting admission in IIMs.
to appear in CAT you should have minimum 50% marks in your bacheor from any recognize college and university or 45% if you are from reserved category student or equivalent.

The paper Pattern of CAT
CAT is online test which have multiple choice questions & two sections
1. Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation;
2. Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.
Each section has 30 questions & 70 minutes
