Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
Whether to do a M.Tech or MBA will depend on ultimately in which field you want to go. If you want to remain in the technical field, it is better to go for M.Tech and if you are interested in the management side, then you should go for an MBA. It is very difficult to get in to the management side with a M.Tech.

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
Dear friend,
M.tech or MBA both have very good future aspects . If you want to go to the academic line i.e. further gaining deep skill about your subject and want to do Phd and research, then you can opt for M.Tech. Whereas, if you are not interested in academic then choose MBA which makes scope for employeement in efficient managerial posts. So choice is yours. Best of luck. |

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
This is a major questions of many graduates. yeah its quite tough to choose but you have to consider the best for you.
First of tell tell me are you serious of the present BTech IT course. Do you want to learn more of it? If yes then go for MTech otherwise if you think you need to change your field then go for MBA Best think you can do it do your MTech if you are really interested and then later after MTech you can consider of doing MBA. Thats also possible So think about it. I know your doubt is too tough to handle so i am giving you a link to an article which will solve all your queries check this http://www.inspirenignite.com/m-tech...ter-to-choose/ |

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
Hi,
The most vital decision after B tech. The job trend asks for MBA but M tech an added degree to your knowledge. If you are financially sound go for M tech. MBA means business (man becomes machine). |

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
after doing mtech your field will be limited to technical field where as after doing mba you have an added advantage of having technical back ground . hence a part from technical field you can even enter into other fields such as banking, financing, defence, and many more.

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
It depends upon the interest of an indivisual. If a person is very good at programming and he wants to continue his carrear in it then he should go for M.tech therefore doing a resarch work and become a programmer.
If a person is interested in becoming a manager then he should go for MBA. Therefore learning the principles of management and becomong a leader. |

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
Hai,
Both M.Tech and MBA have potential to fetch you great career as both the courses holds good value in the market. But as far as selection of any one of the courses is concerned, it depends upon the indivuduals skill, interest and ultimate goal. After giving years for learning the technical aspects, if you want to switch to management, its completely OK but make sure that you really want to do this. The selection of the course should be based on your expertise, knowledge and demand of the particular course in the coming future. It should not be based on success history of the course. As far as my suggestion is concerned, you should follow the same stream because i can see that every second indivudual is willing to pursue MBA and hence, in the coming future the success story of MBA candidates might not remain so. |

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
Hello,
Well thats a very common dilemma. What you want to do is dependent on you. Why do you want others to take your life's decision. Well looking at the market scenario an companies recruiting IT professionals, it is best if you go for MBA. That way you will even have a management as well as a technical one. But make sure you carefully choose your major in MBA that suits your graduate degree. Good Luck! |

MBA is a business line.. but if u do that then u can also get a high salary job. best of luck. |

HI!
Both MTech & MBA are good career options in terms of job opportunity, salary & career growth & advancement. You can select anyone of them depending upon your interest, knowledge, skill & potential to excel in a particular field. If you are interested in building your career in IT sector itself then doing MTech wll be a wise decision. But if you want to change your field or you are simply interested in management line then you can do MBA course as BTech plus MBA candidates are much saught after these days. you can select from among a no. of electives like port management, aviation management, IT, power management, HR marketing etc. |

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
Dear Friend,
According to me Knowledge is everything in a educational carrier. So if you are interested to gather much more knowledge in your base subject , you must go for M.Tech. However, everything depend on your choice, what your mind wants, in which carrier you like to prefer. It is totally your opinion. MBA as well as M.Tech both are very very good qualification in a educational carrier. But they are best in their own position, I mean MBA is a totally different from the M.Tech. MBA is a business, financial, management line which will deflect you from your way of study,in which till now you are studying. Whereas,M.Tech is totally different way it will lead you for gathering more and more knowledge in your subject. After the M.Tech you will be much more confident as well as experienced in your base, then any campus interview will be very easy to you. there are so many MNCs(TCS,CTS,Microsoft,Wipro,Infosys,HCL,IBM,Cognigent etc....) in which you can join confidently and smartly. Best of luck. |

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
Hello Madam!
There is no confusion in deciding between MBA and M.Tech. I can suggest you to do MBA because there is a bright future than M.Tech(IT). As all know there is always ups and downs in software field its risky to do M.Tech(IT). If you go with MBA from better colleges there is a better scope for your future. If you are good in software skills then there is no problem to do M.Tech(IT). Otherwise it is nothing better to stop here and search for a job. Dont hesitate to do MBA and the rest depends on your decision. Good luck! |

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
This question was of utmost importance to me.
Also this global recession thing has ensured one thing..that the Btech students who are passing out these 2-3 years dont get a permanent job..it will take quite a lot of skill and a lot of luck to hang on to ur job..anyway my top priority now is to pass all papers in BTech and think of other options later…but as i see many who are confused what to do after their engg.,i thought this is a subject of utmost importance and someone has to start a discussion so i thought i would..this is just an attempt for that..do post ur opinions on the topic as comments well yes its the students personal decision which matters anyway..theres a saying “survival of the fittest” it becomes relevant in todays nightmarish conditions..rest u guess. Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
M.Tech and B.tech two totally different study.
M.tech is a study in technical knowledge. after b.tech in IT if you go towards the M.Tech then you can explore your technical knowledge. but the salary is comparable low than an employee who has MBA degree. MBA is a study in management subject. if you study MBA you will get a chance to earn more but here your technical knowledge requirement will be very lees which you gain in B.tech. so if you want to study in your own field then you should go for M.Tech. also M.tech is a best option for B.Tech student than MBA. best of luck. |

Re: After Btech (IT): M.Tech OR MBA?
The decision is totally depends upon you whether to go for M.Tech or MBA after B.Tech in IT.
If you think that your technical knowledge of btech is quite good enough then you can go for M.Tech and then for Ph.D as well. For admit into good mtech colleges you have to appear and score well in GATE exam. For all details about GATE 2011 visit :- http://gate.iitm.ac.in/gate2011/ But if you think that you want groom yourself in both sides with technical and marketting knowledge then you should go for MBA. But for doing that you have to appear MAT/CAT/XAT etc. exams. For all details about XAT 2011 visit :- http://www.xlri.edu/ |
