Hi.. I m a final year student of grads.. wd Economics Hons. I want to know which will be a better option 4 me after my BA. Whether i should go for MA in the same field after completing my graduation or should i drop the nxt yr n prepare for MBA? **Will it be a waste of 2yrs if i first go for MA n den go for MBA? Or will it be a more preferred profile as a job candidate?** Coz what m thinking is even after completing my MA there will be some other options open up for me lyk.. i can sit for other compt. exams which requires a PG.. so MBA/entrance examz/ bank jobs part(depending on my interest), i can decide later on after completing my pg . But i m confused whether MA in eco has any value now a days (if yes, which institute will be gud 1 4 pursuing a MA in eco??) I ve also got a GNIIT diploma from NIIT, i want2 know whether it will be counted as a merit in my job profile latr on or is it completely useless? plz suggest.

hello,,im here to solve your query well u are doing ba in economics so u may choose mba bt there are some papers like accounts if u understand it dan well n good bt if u dnt u will b in trouble not great......if u r persuing ba n eco u can go with ma in eco both are beneficial according to current status of job.....

If you keenly interested for corporate profile job then directly go for MBA.do not think twice.though you have economics background and if yopu got MBA in finance from a good institute then you can uprise your career fastly.

as u're about to complete ur graduation this is a turning point to make a wise decision. As u are a student of B.A economics, i would like to advice u to opt for M.A, as it is the subject of the same stream, u'll promote ur chances for being selected in government jobs, much more options are available today besides this...MY SUGGESTION TO U..GO FOR M.A.

According to me ,at the time of recession in software sector,its a very good choice.
You can choose MA as well as MBA,because the both courses in their position.

According to me,go for the postgraduate branch in which you have much more interest in.
I will prefer MBA,as there are so many option in MBA degree.As an economist you can join in both private as well as govt undertakings sectors.

Beside this you also can go with good communication skills and analytical mind, one could find employment in consulting firms.

as you have completed BA in economics then definatly you should go for the MA in economics it will be more better for you your basic concepts and subject will become more stronger and then you will be the master of your field, ok go for MA

If you are interested into business go for an MBA, otherwise MA is always an option.

i would suggest first you understand what exactly these two programmes are meant for..

Masters in Economics will lead u too be a economics master specialised in various aspects which ever u choose in ur PG tenure ..however if u choose this programme then u must go for top colleges for it like
Delhi School of Economics (nothing compares other then this) here all the course will be mathematical based.. i mean real tough job..but good prospects..placements are good like R&D jobs ,Business Analyst etc....infact the name itself will give u weightage in any interview u face..nowdays corporate people prefer D'School Grads..entrance exam is avg. cant say about current pattern..

other is J.N.U. same thing the best...but course wil be mostly theoritical based..good for IAS aspirants ..
rest colleges u can find out....

MBA option is also worth but onli in specialization in Finance.. am talking about for ur back ground ..go for good colleges..rest u must be know aboput cat and all that stuff.....
mba will make u a potential candidate for Management activites
will get a job easily for sure...

I would suggest go for MA programme coz mba is like every tom dick and harry is going for this course but ya if ur getting into tier-1 institutes for mba then nothing compares ..

!!Last advice Define ur goals then goals first the go for thr PG programmes !!

MBA is very much , when compared to the MA, because you can't expect more salary for the MA, but you will get good salary when you do MBA, but do it in good university,

first of all now you should be well determined what you want to do next .

what i got from your query that you are interested in doing MBA after BA or MA.

I WILL suggest you that don't worry for jobs after MBA you will get many more job offers in world class companies.

you will get high salary, status and chance to work with global leaders.

if you will go for MA then it will make your CV heavy but not of use after doing MBA.

Instead of that take your time to prepare well for CAT, MAT,XAT these exams.

well doing mba is good idea...u can go 4 that but the same time doing ma in eco will be also a good idea since u can look for gov exam....

Hi. I am final year b.com student from DU. I want to pursue MBA in finance. Since you get to do your mba once, i want to make sure that i do it from a top rated instutute so that my mba actually counts! But would it be better if i get some work experience and then get my mba? I am thinking of applying for RBI grade B Officer. So my query is should i do a regular mba after one to two years work ex as an RBI officer..or should i better do an executive mba after 4-5 years? Also let me know about the job prospects in stock market as a graduate.
