I wanted to know after mbbs how many years does it take to become a gynecologist?
After mbbs do we start going to hospital as a doctor for specializing?

To become Gynecologist, it requires 4years of college, 4years of medical school and 4 years of OB/GYN residency, for a total of 12years.

Hi there,

After finishing MBBS you will have to do a specialisation course (Masters ) in Gynecology to become a gynecologist. The duration of the course could be 2 years to 3 years and depends on the University you choose.

After graduating your MD(Masters) you can either intern for sometime in some high ranked hospitals to gain the extra edge in practical training and then you are all set to start a private practice of your own.

5 or 6 six years rougly if u attempt to clear in first attempt...after mbbs these 6 years willr equire full hospital training which must be a teaching hospital and assigned to specialize in that specialty like neurosurgery or paediatrics and also this period is after 5 years of mbbs and one year of housejob.
