After scoring 55.26% in B.Tech EEE can I be eligible for IES? How can I improvement English Vocabulary and writing skills?


My name is satish...i got 55.26% in B.tech EEE.Can I eligible for IES...and get a job in IES...
i am preparing for IES last three months. MY target is IES Below 50rank.
How can i prepare to achieve my goal.I have all books(standard text books).
how can i improve my English vocabulary and writing skills.IF any BOOK's for IES to get good marks..please give me Good sagations.

dear friend,
Eligibility for IES exam:-

*Educational qualification:-

1.The candidate must have complete the graduation in Engineering field..

2.The candidate should not have any pending backlogs during graduation..

3.The candidate have to write the exam in the syllabus of any of the streams like-
Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Civil.

Age eligibility:-
1.The age should be in between 21-30 years.
For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years.

No such marks percentage is required..
You just have to complete the graduation in engineering field..

To improve the vocabulary and writing skills you have to fulfill the following steps:-

1.Read English newspaper. Note down the unknown words.
2.Try to find the meaning of those unknown words..
3.Make sentence with those unknown words..
4.Memorize them daily.. It will help you to increase your vocabulary.
5.Try to write essay in English, Read more story books..
6.Write applications and letters in English..
7.Practice these things daily, to improve the writing skills.
So, go for it.

Dear friend,

Yes, You are eligible for IES exam because this exam not required any kind of marks percentage.

IES exam is conducted by UPSC in onece time in year.

If you have completed engineering dicipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam
1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

The Notification was published in the month of January or February in Official website or employment news papers.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

IES-Indian engineering services

>> This exam is conducted by UPSC every year in the month of June.



>>CRITERIA-

1-Educational-You should be graduate or in the final year of B.E or B.tech in the following branches from a recognized university.
a-Mechanical
b-Civil
c-Electrical
d-Electronics and telecommunication

2-Age-Your age should be between 21 to 30 years in case of general candidate.
should be between 21 to 33 years in case of obc candidate.
should be between 21 to 35 years in case of sc/st candidate.

So you can give this exam after B.Tech degree if you are in the above listed branch and under the age criteria.

>>Important dates for the upcoming IES exam-

1-Notification on--------------------------------->25-02-2012
2-Last date of filling the application----------->26-03-2012
3-Exam date------------------------------------>15-06-2012

Exam is completed in three days it have three objective papers and two subjective papers.
