To become an IAS, you have to appear for the Civil Service exam conducted by the UPSC for the Central Government of India.

*Now the minimum eligiblity requires a candidate to attain minimum 21 years of age as on 1st August of the year of the exam.

*The upper age limit for General category candidates is 30 Years.
While the same is relaxed upto 33 years for OBC and 35 years for SC/ST.

I have attached the notification for your reference.

Your doubt is not unfounded.
Administrative Reforms Committee of UPSC has indeed given suggestions
for reducing the age of candidates to Central Administrative Tribunal.
In due course of time, the tribunal will scrutinize the suggestion and
if found valid, it will be put in force.
But as of now, the current age range of 21 to 30 years holds good.

hello friend .....
the age limit for the IAS exam conducted by the UPSC is about 21 - 30 years for the general category candidates
and there is the upper age relaxation for the OBC and the SC/ST candidates
for the OBC there is an age relaxation of 3 years
and for the SC/ST there an age relaxation of the 5 years ...

and the age limit for the general category students remains the same till date there is no change in it ......
