What is age limit for the 2016 exam for lps officer post of the civil services exam going to be held in the coming year 2016?

Age Limit of Civil Services examination, 2016:

The minimum and maximum age is calculated on 1st August of year of examination:

1. General candidate: 21-32 years.

2. OBC candidate: 21-35 years including relaxation.

3. SC/ST candidate: 21-37 years including age relaxation.

Age Criteria Required for IPS Examination 2016:

In order to join Indian Police Services which is one of the most prestigious services in India, you are required to write CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) Entrance Examination. In order to appear in CSAT Examination, you need to first fulfill the required eligibility criteria which is provided below.

Required Age Criteria: (As on 01.08.2016)

Minimum Age Required - 21 years
Maximum Age Allowed - 30 years
Note: Certain Categories of persons (OBC/ SC/ ST/ PWD/ Ex-Servicemen) as specified in the Commission's notice as published in Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar are eligible for age relaxation.

Its not yet issued by the UPSC but I can give you the rough idea about this on the basis of last years eligibility requirements.

According to the last instructions, the maximum age limit for general category was 33 years,for OBC it was 35years and for SC/ST it was 37 years

Age limit for IPS exam 2016:

Age limit is 21-30 years for General category

21-33 years for OBC category

21-35 years for SC/ST candidates

Age Limit for IPS officer exam:

Age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

Relaxation:- 3 years for OBC category
5 years for SC category

Qualification Required:- You must have completed graduation from recognized university.

Selection Process:- On the basis of Written exam (Preliminary & Mains Exam) & Interview.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service which is one of the highest post in the administrative field after IAS.

Also for being an IPS officer, you will have to clear Civil Services Examination which is organized once every year by UPSC in three stages which includes Preliminary test, Mains and Personal Interview respectively.

The eligibility criteria required for appearing in the same examination are as here under :-

* You must have the nationality of India.

* Your age must lie in between 21 years to 32 years in you belong to general candidate. Otherwise there is provision of age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per the government norms.

* You must have completed your graduation degree course with any subject of your choice from a recognized university. Students pursuing final year of the same degree course are also eligible.

IPS stands for INDIAN POLICE SERVICE Which exam is conducted through UPSC every year , the candidates have to appear civil service exam .

The eligibility criteria for this exam :

*The candidates should be a citizen Of India.
*The Candidates should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognize university.
The final year students can also apply for this exams.
*The age limit is 21 - 30 years.
There is a age relaxation for SC/ST & OBC candidates.

The physical details require for IPS Officers :

Physical requirement:

Height :–

Male 165 cm & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm

Female 150 cm & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Chest :–

Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.

Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight :–

6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.

6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.

For Civil Services exam your age should be within the age limits of 21 years to 32 years.

There is also relaxation of age of 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

For Civil Services exam you must have completed your graduation or you must be in the final year of your graduation.

For Civil Services you must be an Indian Citizen.

The exam consists of three stages-

>> CSAT
>> Mains
>> Interview

You have to clear all the stages to become an IPS officer.
