Actual age limit for general applicants is 30 years
but there is some relaxation for SC/ST/OBC like: For OBC candidates the limit is 33 years they are relaxed for 3 years after their upper age limit. For SC/ST Candidates the limit is 35 years they are relaxed for 5 years after their upper age limit. Thanks!! |

for general category..the maximum age limit is 30 years..for OBC it is 33 years..for SC/ST it is 35 years..but u should be a graduate to be able to appear in the exam

INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE This civil service examination is conducted by UPSC (union public service commission).for appear in this exam, you must have graduation degree from a recognized college, whatever may be the stream is .. this civil service examination has three stages- 1.CSAT, 2.MAINS, 3.INTERVIEW, The age limit for this examination is 21-30 years for the GENERAL candidates, also there are 5 & 3 years of the age relaxation are applicable for SC\ST & OBC candidates respectively. IAS (Indian Administrative Services) is basically for those who are firmly determined for dedication of themselves towards the own country.
If you are so interested for IAS,after being Engineers, Doctors, or Ph.d you can sit IAS exam conducted by UPSC. Application forms will come out in the month of January. According to the new exam pattern of the IAS exam 1) General-Studies paper which carries 150 marks 2) Optional paper which carries 150 marks. Eligibility Criteria :- 1.Educational Qualification:To appear in IAS exam you should have a Graduation degree in any stream from a recognize University. If you are in final year you can also eligible to apply for the examination. 2.Age:The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the candidates belong to reservation category. No.Of Attemptes: General Candidates - 4 Attempts OBC Candidates - 7 Attempts SC/ST Candidates - No Limits. |

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. The entrance exam for IAS is conducted by Union Public Service Commission which is known as Civil Service Examination. Along with Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service, IAS entrance exam is also conducted under Civil Service Examination.
The job of Indian Administrative Service officer is to implement government policy. He/She has to personally ensure that policy is being implemented properly by visiting the place. age limit to write IAS is as such
lower age limit should be 21 years while upper age limit should be 30 years general category (relaxable upto 5 years for sc/st and upto 3 years for obc) |
