Re: Am I eligible to give CAT with 50% in MSc?
You need to have a minimum of 50% in your Bachelor's from a recognized university.
Since you have scored less than 50% your not eligible for CAT. If your from SC/ST category you just need 45% in your Bachelor's degree due to the relaxation provided. all the best, keep working hard. |

Re: Am I eligible to give CAT with 50% in MSc?
Common Admission Test (commonly known as CAT) is stepping stone for MBA seekers to get admitted in the reputed management schools of India.
The minimum requirement for a candidate is to pass with at least 50% marks at the graduation level. Since you are currently in MSc and applying from Msc and in that you have 50% so you are eligible no need to worry. and their is nothing like statistics in their combination in economics they considered less 5% cut of marks!!!! |

Re: Am I eligible to give CAT with 50% in MSc?
yea you may appear in CAT examination although you have less marks in your graduation.
any graduate student may appear in CAT examination. but you may face problem at the time of admission. some institution give criterion that you mast have minimum of 50% marks in graduation to take admission in that particular institution. i do not think that there is any system like that the students who have statistics in their combination in economics they considered less 5% cut of marks. best wishes. |

Eligibility for CAT:
For general candidates: A candidate should have got atleast 50% or equivalent CGPA in Graduation. For SC/ST candidates: A candidate should have got atleast 45% or equivalent CGPA in Graduation. Final year candidates who will complete their gradudation in 2011 can also apply. I am not sure about the system. You need to confirm from confirm it from IIMs. All the best. |

Re: Am I eligible to give CAT with 50% in MSc?
Hello,
The eligibility for CAT is- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. For SC/ST/DA candidates it is 45%. Candidates in final year can also apply. But regarding your percentage,if you belong to SC/ST category, then only you would be eligible. And on the second part of your question,as far as iam concerned there is no such relaxation for those having combinations of statistics in economics. |

Re: Am I eligible to give CAT with 50% in MSc?
hi!
In CAT exam the minimum eligibility requirement is a bachelor's degree & there is no incentive for a post graduate candidate. So it does not matter what percentage of marks you secured in Msc. I am sorry to say but you can not appear in CAT exam since you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria. CAT eligibility, 2011 : The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)categories], awarded by any of the recognised Universities |

Re: Am I eligible to give CAT with 50% in MSc?
Hi
As per the eligibility criteria for the CAT examination the candidate who have passed the Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for the CAT examination. Since you have scored 48% in your Bachelor’s Degree so you are not eligible to apply for the CAT examination. But if you have any reservation quota then you are eligible to apply for the CAT examination. For the SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates the percentage required is 45%. So if you have any quota then you are eligible to apply for the CAT examination. But if you are from General category candidates then you are not eligible to apply for the CAT examination. GOOD LUCK |

Re: Am I eligible to give CAT with 50% in MSc?
Hey ,
CAT does not have any stringent rules on your graduation marks all you need to have a pass mark and the ability to crack the numbers and words which they give on the day of exam. But be sure that unless you have a high percentile in CAT is is difficult for you to enter a reputed college. So be happy that you are now eligible and kindly start your homework now. TIME books are really comprehensive and please refer to their content to score high marks. Other institutions also offer quite good books, but the former is better in terms of understanding. All the best. |
