If you have failed in the final year you will not be able to apply for CAT. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.

ELIGIBILITY

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Able (DA) categories], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Even if you clear the exam it will be of no use if you do not complete your graduation, because you will not be eligible to do MBA if you are not a graduate. i would advise you to appear for your graduation once again. It will be golden step ahead for your future planning and professional career. For further information visit

Those who have completed graduation are eligible for CAT. Final year students are also eligible to apply, provided they must be free of backlogs. So try to complete backlogs at the earlist and then apply for CAT. A minimum of 50% marks in graduation is required to apply for CAT. There is no upper age limit.

CAT stands for Common Admission Test which is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission in various college for MBA course.

The minimum educational qualification required for CAT exam is graduation degree but your graduation marks must be above 50% .Marks relaxation is provide for SC/ST candidate. There is no age criteria. There is no limitation for CAT exams attempts so you can try it maximum times.

So if you are from final year of your degree course then only you are applicable for CAT exam otherwise not .

Questions papers are coming from the topics of 1) Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and 2) Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning.

For CAT exam only graduates can apply. This exam is also open for the final year students. But since you have backlogs therefore you wont be allowed to sit for this exam until and unless you clear them. So my advice to you would be to first clear them and then apply for the CAT Examination.

Full form of CAT is Common Admission Test and this exam is conducted by the IIM's, the best in the business when it comes to choosing colleges for MBA. But with CAT score not only can you apply in the IIM's but in other such MBA colleges as well which accepts CAT scores.

The CAT exam is like a national level entrance test for MBA and the popularity of this exam is sky-high as many MBA aspirants every year tries their luck by giving this exam. Usually this exam is conducted in the month of October to November.

As mentioned earlier if you wish to give this exam then you have to complete graduation first. The stream does not matters but the marks you score certainly does because the general category candidates needs to score at least 50% of marks in aggregate. SC/ST candidates needs to get 45% of marks instead.

Reservation:-
  1. Scheduled Caste (SC)- 15.00%
  2. Scheduled Tribe (ST)- 7.50%
  3. Other Backward Classes (OBC) - 27.00%
  4. Differently Abled (DA)- 3.00%
Important Dates 2013:-
  • Sale of vouchers- Aug 05 - Sep 24, 2013
  • Registrations- Aug 05 - Sep 26, 2013
  • Exam dates- Oct 16 - Nov 11, 2013
  • Results- Jan 14, 2014
Hope this helps :-> :->
