any student who have passed graduation is eligible for IAS examination.

from which stream you have completed your graduate it does not matter to appear in IAS examination. as you have already passed graduation with commerce so surely you are eligible for IAS examination.

the competition for IAS is very tough. so you must be well prepared before preparing in the examination. syllabus is also very vast.

best of luck.

hi!

Sorry you are not eligible to appear in civil services exam(CSE) conducted for recruitment of IAS officers. Because you do not meet the age requirements.

CSE age limit requires that a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years in order to appear for the exam.

For more details visit: www.upsc.gov.in

The minimum educational qualification to apply for IAS is graduation degree. it doesn't matter what your stream is. and you are a graduate with commerce. so you are definitely elligible. IAS is really a tough exam so prepare accordingly. solve previous year questions to see its level.

Thumbs up Re: Am I eligible for IAS exam after completing B.Com pass course?

Hi,
You are eligible to appear for IAS examination as you have cleared your B.com. But you're only 20yrs. So you have to wait for a year more because you must be 21yrs so as to appear for the exam. You're really lucky because you have a year in your hand for the right preparation. You go and join any civil service training institute to get proper guidance. The syllabus has been changed by UPSC. More stress has been given to SQ(social quotient) than EQ(emotional quotient ).You must be thorough with the basics from 6th to 10th science, social science(history, geography and civics) ncert text books and you must be aware of the incidents of national and international importance. Preferably read 'The Hindu' newspaper. You'll get more information from this(don't forget to go through editorial column). If you've good reasoning skill, simple and good communication skill and logical ability then you can easily clear even your interview. Its easy to clear the preliminary and mains exam if you are well aware of the basics I've mentioned above. Read good articles and journals of national importance like The Week, Economic and Political Weekly etc. There is nothing to worry. Its easy if you have a confidence in you and get a right training..
Look forward and utilise the time you have..
All the best..

Sorry to say , that you're applicable for IAS Entrance Examination. There is no issue with you're educational qualification , The Issue is that you have not satisfied the age criteria which is Important to appear in IAS Entrance Examination .

So,If you're interested to apply for IAS Entrance Examination then I suggest wait for One year , If you reach 21 years then definitely you're applicable for IAS Entrance Examination .

Relaxation :-

-5 years for sc/st candidates
-3 years for obc candidates

>>> The maximum number of attempts will applicable for General candidates for 4 time / OBC candidates for 7 times and there is no limit for sc/st candidates.

The Selection Procedure :-

-Preliminary Examination ( Civil Service Aptitude Test )
-Main Examination and
-Interview

Examination Pattern for Civil Service Examination :-

>>> Preliminary Examination :- The preliminary Examination is First stage in Civil Service Exmaination and It's also called as Civil Service Aptitude Test . The Preliminary Examination may divided into two objective papers . The Question papers consist of General Knowledge / Current Affairs / Aptitude Test etc..............
