How to become an IAS officer after completing B.Com with 66%


I want to be IAS officer i have completed my bcom with 66% but my puc and sslc percentage was very low .... So plz tel me can i be a IAS officer and plz giv me information about 2013 entrance exam plz help me

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC through Civil Service Exam so if you want to go for IAS exam , then you have to scored in Civil Service Exam.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.

IAS Exam is not depend on 10th , 12th or graduation marks .Minimum educational qualification is graduate .

But your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

Also you must be in citizen in India.

The IAS selection process is consist in three way

1)Preliminary exam(This Exam is based on Objective type Question Paper)
2)Main exam (This Exam is subjective type)
3)Inter View.

Offline registration fees for civil service exam is 100/- and Online fees are 50/- .There is no registration fees for SC/ST/OBC and female candidate .

Exam date of 2013 is already announced in UPSC website.the exam date of UPSC Civil Service Exam 2013 is -

As well as your marks good and you are eligible for IAS conducted by UPSC in every year.


IAS Qualification-

Candidate should be Graduate from Recognized university.
Candidate should be Unmarried Indian .
Candidate age should be between in 21-35 years for general caste.

Attempts for IAS For Different caste-

For General candidate- 4 times
For OBC- -7times
And for SC/ST- -No limit

The exams conducted by UPSC or SSC have nothing to do with your career marks. They just require a passing of the minimum eligible conditions. SO need not worry about it. here i am providing you a details of the Civil service examination go through it.

The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) as a common examination for recruitment to various services like the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service, as well as Group A and Group B Central Services. The notification for the examination, (giving rules and the syllabus for all subjects included in the exam) is published in the month of November/December every year in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar and Gazette of India as well as in some Newspapers. You can also get the information on their official website http://www.upsc.gov.in

Eligibility

i. Nationality:
The candidate must be a citizen of India.

ii. Age:
Minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years.The upper age limit will be relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Caste /Scheduled Tribe candidates, & by 3 years for candidates of OBC.

iii. Qualification:
A graduation degree from any Indian University or other educational institution deemed as a University
The final year degree course students can also apply for and appear in the Aptitude Test.

iv. Number of Attempts:
General- four
OBC- seven attempts
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe- unlimited.

v. Reservation:
Reservation is there for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and
Physically disabled categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government from time to time.

Civil Services Examination, consists of
a. The Civil Services Aptitude Test - CSAT (Objective Type) for the
selection of candidates for the Main Examination
b. Civil Services Main Examination (Written) and
c. A Final Interview for those who pass the Main Exam.


Scheme Of Examination

I. Aptitude Test
The Aptitude Test will be held by the UPSC normally on a Sunday in the
latter half of May every year. The exact date will be published in the
Notification.
The Aptitude Test will have two papers (Papers I & II) of the Objective
(Multiple Choice) type questions and carries a maximum of 200 marks each.
Each paper will be of two hours duration.

II. Main Examination
Only those who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the
Preliminary Examination in a year, are eligible for admission to the Main
Examination of that year, provided they are otherwise eligible for admission
to the Main Examination. The written part of the Main Examination is usually conducted in October/November every year spread over a period of 3 weeks and consists of 9 papers, as detailed below, of the conventional essay-type
questions, in the subjects prescribed by the Commission.

Pattern of the Main Examination
The written examination will consist of the following papers:
Compulsory
Paper I One of the Indian Languages 300 marks
Paper II English 300 marks
Papers I and II are of a qualifying nature only. The marks obtained in
them will not count for ranking purposes.
Paper III Essay 200 marks
Papers IV & V General Studies - (Papers I & II) 300 marks each


Optional Subjects - (2 Subjects)
Papers VI & VII Optional I (Papers I & II) 300 marks each
Papers VIII & IX Optional II (Papers I & II) 300 marks each


Grand Total (Papers III to IX) 2000 marks

III. Interview
The number of candidates who pass the Main Exam and are called for the
Interview. A total of 300 marks is alloted for the Interview.

Candidates have the option to answer Papers III to IX in English or in one of the Indian languages listed :
Assamese, Bengali, Bedo (Devanagari), Dogri (Devanagari), Maithili (Devanagari), Santali (Devanagari or olchiki), Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Persian, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi (Devanagari or Arabic Script), Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.

IAS officer after completing B.Com


IAS is commonly known as Indian Administrative Services.
To become an IAs officer you need to clear UPSC Civil Services Examination.

You can sit for the exam provided you follow the eligibility norms:

** You must have completed your graduation in any stream.

IAS exam stands indian administrative service which is conducted by upsc.
You have to apply when the notification for UPSC Civil Service Exam notification made in Dec 2012 or Jan 2013.
You need to write Civil Service Exam to become an IAS or IPS officer

Eligibility Criteria for IAS Exam:-

You should be citizen of India

2)Age limit:-
A general category candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August 2012
(upper age limit relaxable for SCs, STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in UPSC Notification).

You are eligible to become a IAS officer with percentage of 66%. There is no percentage required to eligible to become IAS Officer.

Since you have completed graduation, you are eligible for the Civil Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. You don't need to worry about percentage, because it is irrelevant in the Civil Service Examination.



Eligibility

1. You must be of Indian origin.

2. A graduation degree in any stream is required.

3. The age limit is 21 to 30 years as of August 1 of examination year.

4. Age limit is extended by 3 years for OBC.

5. SC/ST gets 5 years relaxation.



Exam Pattern

1) Preliminary Exam



There are two papers in the Preliminary Exam. First one is on general studies while you need to select a subject for second paper. Preliminary is only a qualifying examination. It takes place in May and candidates who pass this exam are eligible to sit in Main Exam.


2) Main Exams

There are total of 9 papers in the main exam which is followed by the Interview. First two subjects are on Indian Language and English. Third is on essay while fourth and fifth are on general studies. For the remaining 4 papers you once again need to select 2 subjects.

If you are B.Com Graduate then you can apply for IAS Examination.

Age Limit for IAS Examination:

For General Category there is age limit for 21 to 30 years.

There will be age relaxation for other categories which is as follows:

SC/ST Category - 5 years relaxation

OBC Category - 3 years relaxation

Hence you can calculate your age according to your category and if your age is under the limit then you can apply for the examination.

The education qualification required is only Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University and there will be no percentage criteria.

The selection procedure will be based on the performance in the examination which is divided into three stages:

-Civil Services Aptitude Test

-Civil Services Mains

IAS - Indian Administrative Service, to become an IAS officer one has to crack Civil service Exam conducted by UPSC twice every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian national having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

So as you are a B.Com. Graduate, you are eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam. There is no requirement of any percentage of marks criteria for this exam.

The selection is through two stages of written exam followed by Personal Interview.

The eligible candidate applying for Civil Service Exam is called for a Preliminary Exam also called as CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test).

The candidate selected out of CSAT exam, is called for the Civil Service Main Exam and the final selection is through Personal Interview out of the candidate selected through Main Exam.

So,
You want to serve the nation, which is really appreciable. In order to become a IAS officer, you must have to clear the CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION, which is conducted by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC) every year.
IAS stands for the INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES.
This civil service examination requires at least a graduation degree in any stream but from a recognized college.
So, you are eligible for this examination, as you have completed your graduation.

Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university

Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

Number of Attempts:
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.
If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

I want to clear that , I have done my graduation from Commerce side now i want to take history subjects for IAS preparation , Can i take this subject please give me suggestion on this matter .
