i am in my final yr bsc computer science..

i want to work in teaching line..
i want to study in a challenging environment like IIT..

but how can i enter into IIT?
may i hv the eligibility ?
is ther any exams to qualify myself to enter in to IIT?

how to prepare for the exams?

you need to have the degree if you want to be a pofessor its a job of highly qualified teachers isnt that easy have to work very hard

i am not sure but i think you can apply for it after your graduation.just apply for the post you want to of different colleges and if they feel that you are eligible for that particular job than you may get that job.still hope for the best and dont get demoralized just keep trying for it.

yes definitely, IIts conduct join entrance for admisson to their masters courses.....apart from them ,IISC,BANG,ISM, dhanbad,JNU,BHU also conducts its separate examination.....u may apply to them..they are the best places in india to study science

with only bsc degree you cannot join iit as a lecturer or professor .. you have to complete atleast your pg degree for joining iit

i dont think just doing bsc will help you solving your cause to get into IIT's but if you have scored above 65% then you can apply for the post of tutor in your respective field but for that you have to go through the strict and rigorous entrance procedure or you can do further studies and attain docterate and become a proffesor in IIT's . hope you do good and clear the exam bye good luck & all the best ...

there is no post of lecturer in IITs.....the entry post is asst professor for which you require a Phd with an overall first divison.those who are extra-brilliant and still have't completed their Phd are temporarily taken as senior lecturer and within two years they have to complete their Phd and again face the interview for asst professor.

its a very good think that you want to work in iit,
but for this you should do your master degree then phd,and then apply.

Dear friend,

Only having graduation degree in B.Sc(IT),won't do enough for getting into the IITs as a lecturer..

For applying as a professor in IITs you must have a M.Tech/ME degree or Phd in general sciences..

IITs require top scorer candidates who have valid NET score/GATE/SAT score etc..

So better you first finish your Master's degree and then apply for the assistant professor post in IITs..

you are not eligible for lecturer post in iit , for joining as a lecturer in I I T ..i think that you should have some good degree in technical line.also you have experienced in the teaching line.

As you are doing B.Sc then you have to do M.Sc.
& after M.Sc if you complete your Phd then, you can apply in IIT.
If you have valid NET/GATE/SAT score card then you will get benefit.

I am sorry to say but you are not eligible to join IIT's as lecturer or associate professor.

The minimum educational qualification required for the same is a post graduate/ doctoral degree in the respective subject.

IIT's have a specific & tough selection procedure for recruiting lecturer.

if u have done M.TECH or P.hd from some reputed institute then u r eligible to

join in IIT...

I did Diploma in Mech Engg in 1996 with 82.05% .

I completed AMIE Section-A in 2002 with 55% and AMIE Section-B Mechanical Engineering in 2008 with 60% from the Institution of Engineers ( India).

Am i eligible for admission into IIT'S & IISC with a valid GATE SCORE.

hi yes there are separate exams are that iit ans iisc all r conducting .
but they rather selects p.g guys and looks for ph.d as staff..however all the best

First do your final year studies best and score best results , I meant good %. If you have b.tech in related field its more easier. after your graduation try to join as demonstrator in university or junior research fellow, then it helps to gain more experiences. while earning money , try to complete masters. with the time you will find which field is most good for your PhD. go on........... best of luck

i prefer u to do btech because to teach iit they need expert to solve their numericals or problem.

As per my knowledge you should first go for your masters i.e. first give IIT JAM 2011 because if you really want to work in challenging environment you must have your master degree for make your way easy to join any challenging institute. so, first you visit link provided below and hurry up because last dates for registration to give IIT JAM 2011 is very close. If you can not able to give test this time first you should join any small institute and beside it start preparing for test and appear in 2012. so, you have work experience also. I think, I may have clear your doubt.

To become a lecturer you are required to complete your Post gaduation & NET exam.Then you can apply for it.Many a time an experienced lecturers are required so gain experience as a lecturer in other colleges & universities too.

To join as lecturer in a reputed institute like IIT, u need have a good graduation.. To do your post graduation in IIT like M.tech computer science, u need to clear the GATE entrance exam. And when you are a post graduate you will easily get a job in IIT.

actually for applying in iit college for teacher,s job you will have to get a very good percentage in bsc and sometimes only bsc is not sufficient you will also have to do msc and acquire very good marks. then only you will be eligible for the job

IIT's take professors with minimum requirement of Ph.D degree from a reputed college. Generally the professors in IIT have done Ph.D from good foreign universities. If you want to study in IIT's then you can come through GATE or JAM conducted by IIT's every year.
