Re: Am I eligible to write IAS Exam after completion of BE course?
Yes, you are eligible to write IAS Exam after completion of BE Course which is Bachelor of Engineering.
First of all there is no specific IAS exam. UPSC every year conducts Civil Services Exam for selection of IAS/IPS/IRS/IFS etc. The candidate should be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognised University. Apart from this academic qualification, the candidate applying for Civil Service Exam must be an Indian National within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years. The final year Graduation Degree exam appearing candidate is also eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam. The selection is of three phases:- CSAT - CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST - PRELIMINARY EXAM comprises of objective type questions CIVIL SERVICE MAIN EXAM comprises of subjective type questions from prescribed syllabus PERSONAL INTERVIEW As you are pursing Graduation in Engineering after completion of which you are eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam.
