The eligibility criteria for appearing in IAS exam is-
* The candidate must be a citizen of India. * He/she must hold a bachelor's degree in any field from a recognised university. * He/she must be minimum 21 years of age. * The upper age limit for general category is 30 years, for OBC category 33 years and for SC/ST category 35 years. * General category candidates can give maximum 4 attempts, OBC 7 attempts and SC/ST have no such restriction. So, you are eligible for IAS exam if you fullfil all the above criteria. |

You can write the IAS exam but only after the completion of 3rd year.You can alos apply as a appearing candidates.
IAS exam is conducted by the UPSC every year. Eligiblity for this exam:- Candidates must have a nationality of india. Candidates must have a graduate degree from a recognised university. Age should be ebtween 21 to 30. There is no percentage criteria for this exam. This exam conducts in 3 stages:- 1. CSAT 2.MAIN 3.Interview. CSAT is the general aptitude test and totally onjective. Main is the discriptive type exam. Interview will be held in the same language which is choosen by you in the same language. |

IAS Exam i.e Indian Administrative Exam
It is under Civil Service Exam conducted Only Once in a Year by UPSC. it is having Preliminary and Mains Exam. It Consists of Two parts a) General studies b) Optional subject Out of 25 Subjects You need to select One subject which comes under Optional Subject. To become an IAS Officer One Needs to crack Civil Service Exam. So lets see the Eligibility criteria in Details. Quote:
Age Limits:- Must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2011, i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1980 and not later than 1st August, 1989.(This is For IAS 2011 & For Next year Exam it will be different ) Attempts:- For General Category :- only 4 times. IAS - INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer one should appear and crack Civil Service exam conducted by UPSC once every year. The exam for Indian Administrative Service is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.The Eligibility details of the exam is as follows: Candidates must have completed graduation from any recognized university. Minimum 21 years of age. The maximum age allowed is 30 years. Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories. 5 years for SC/ST Candidates. 3 years for OBC candidates. 10 years for physically handicapped candidates. The above mentioned are the eligibility details of the I.A.S Exam. Bachelor of Arts is one of the acceptable qualifying degree to appear for the Indian Administrative Service. You can appear for the IAS entrance exam but for that you will have to finish the Bachelor of Arts course.
Once you have finished the course apply for the Civil Services Examination. If managed to clear it, you will become IAS officer. However keep in mind that Civil Services Examination is one of the most difficult entrance exams in the world. You will have to study extremely hard in order to clear the Civil Services Examination. There are few hundred seats and more than 5 Lakh applicants. To prepare well you should give yourself some good 4 to 7 months. The job of IAS officer is to implement government policies. IAS officer has to ensure that public funds are used properly. He has to ensure that policy is being implemented properly by consistently visiting the places. Eligibility 1. Anyone who is Indian national can apply. 2. Bachelor of Arts is acceptable as qualifying course. 3. There is no minimum percentage criteria. 4. The age limit is 21 on the lower side. 5. Upper age limit is set at 30 years. 6. There is up to 3 years relaxation for OBC. 7. SC/ST are given 5 years relaxation. Selection Procedure Firstly you will have to appear for the preliminary exams in May. The 2 written tests will decide you fate on whether you can appear for main exam or not. The second stage is Main Exam. Here you will give 9 written tests that will be your final score. Please remember that your marks in preliminary exam will not be added to final tally. In the end you will be called up for Personal Interview. |

Number of Attempts: Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt. For IAS, UPSC Delhi helds civil services exams per year in three steps - prelims, mains, and interview...
The minimum required qualifications to appear in civil services exams is either passed graduate (Bachelor degree) in any faculty or appearing in graduate exam.. Any citizen of India can apply for UPSC civil services exams especially for IAS, IPS and IFS.. being between age group 21- 32 years.. Thanks |
