computer science departments are not eligible for IES exam. but you have to apply the IES exam through those departments.

Educational Qualifications :

Degree in :
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics & Communications Engineering
• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

or equivalent degree from recognized universities.

• M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special

subject is also acceptable for certain posts.
• Students of final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible

Age Limits :

Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years

Yes, Computer science graduates in Engineering can also apply for IES.

But they have to choose one of the following streams as their branch and the questions will also come on the basis of the chosen branch---

*Civil Engineering
*Electrical Engineering
*Mechanical Engineering
*Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years...

IES Stands for Engineering Service examination and any Engineering Graduate candidates are eligible to apply for IES Examination.

you can give the IAS exam also.

*final year student can also apply for Exam

yes, but your branch subject not aplicable for allowed salabous so you will have to select other branch subject for written and interview.

IES i.e Indian Engineering Services is a combined competitive examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services (IES).The Exam is conducted in the month of may/june .

The syllabus for IES is similar to the syllabus of the GATE So it mean that there is no optional subjects present in this exam.

There are objective as well as subjective papers .

Eligibility for the exam::

If you have Btech degree in one of the following only then you are eligible for the exam::

CIVIL
MECHANICAL
ELECTRICAL
ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING. .

You should not be more then 30 years and less then 21 years .There is some relaxation given to reserved caste students .

No you are not eligible .

No,you are not eligible to write the examination.Because your stream is not in list.Some list of branches are only eligible to write examination.

The branch are

• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics and communication Engineering.

So,you are not eligible to apply for this examination.

But you can appear other exams like Bank PO,CDS,I.A.S,I.P.S.

For Bank,I,A.S,I.P.S :- the applicant must possess a bachelor degree from a recognized university.

The candidates age should between 21 years to 30 years.

No there are not eligible to write IES(Indian Engineering Services) exam cause you are an computer science students. So, you cannot write the IES exam.

Candidates should be graduate from a recognized university.

You must be graduate in the following courses can only eligible for exam:

* Mechanical Engineering
* Civil Engineering
* Electronics and communication Engineering
* Electrical Engineering

No,there is no chance to give entrance paer of IES for computer engineer.Only some core branches student can give IES exam.IES specially for only core branches my friend.So its not possible to give this entrance exam.You can give other entrnce exam after engineering.

Only these are some branch student can give IES exam



Electrical engineering
Civil engineering
Electronics and communication
Mechenical engineering.

IES stands for Indian Engineering Service

IES is one of the UPSC exam as it is conducted for candidates to join in Indian Engineering Organisation which are handled by the Government of India.

As you have told that you are a Computer science Engineering student you cannot apply for the IES exam unluckily as the standard says that the candidates who have completed their Engineering/Technology degree in recognized university in departments:

• Civil Engineering,
• Mechanical Engineering,
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering

are only eligible to apply for the IES exam as per the education qualification standard for the IES exam.

The other eligibility criteria which the candidate for applying for the IES exam are:

> Candidate must have a citizenship in India.

> Candidate should seek that they have a age limit of 21-30 years for General category.

> The candidates should have a age limit of 21-35 years for SC/ST category.

> The candidates should have a age limit of 21-33 years for OBC category.

> Final year candidates can also apply for the IES exam.

Sorry you cannot apply for the IES exam as far regarding the education qualification for the IES exam.

As the candidates who have finished their degree from recognized university in departments like:

Civil Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering,
Electrical Engineering and
Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering.

are only eligible for the IES exam.

As you have done your degree in B.E computer science you cannot apply for the IES Exam
