Re: Best universities and GRE score required for admission in MS in Automotive Engineering?
Sravan,
As per your amazing aggregate, you have a very good chance of getting into a good program with aid. However, each degree offers its own variations and you should look into the course contents to see what suits your needs best, as per your interests. However, some commonly accepted good universities for automotive engineering are. *University of Michigan *Indiana University *Cornell University *Kettering University *University of California *University of Texas at Austin Other than that, German Universities are also very good in this field. Cheers, |

Re: Best universities and GRE score required for admission in MS in Automotive Engineering?
there are many universities worldwide for pursuing MS degree in automotive engg. Maximum of good universities are in USA and Germany.
for US universities follow the link-http://us-universities-colleges.topgre.com/top-engineering-schools-usa.shtml and for germany-While you will come across a good number of universities in Germany that do not require GRE, there are some universities that do specify the requirement of the scores on the same. Basically it is solely your decision whether to take the test or not, but if you have other locations like the USA, Canada also on your mind, I would recommend you go ahead and take the test. Also for your information, you also need to take either of the English Proficiency Test (TOEFL / IELTS) Now with regard to taking classes for German language, it varies in every university since majority of the universities arrange classes to master the language. This factor actually increases the duration for the completion of the degree. It is hence a good idea if you can take classes well in advance since it will definitely save time and financial resources as well Please note while Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is a mandatory requirement in locations like US and Canada, it is not so when it comes to UK, Germany etc. and you will come across a good number of universities that do not require GRE. However, a good score on the GRE definitely increases you options. Now with regard to the score, while the saying goes, the better the GRE score, the better your chances to consider the top notch schools, it still would be inappropriate to state that a good GRE school will definitely get you through the top notch schools. The same goes for Test of English as Foreign Language-TOEFL as well. However, generally an overall score of 100+ on the TOEFL and 1200 + (550+ V and 770 +) on GRE should help you through decent universities. Also, please note, one aspect of the profile is not counted during the evaluation procedure and the admissions committee consider the entire application. This simply explains why many a times a profile with GRE score of 1100 makes through a university and a profile with 1200 on GRE does not in the same university |

Re: Best universities and GRE score required for admission in MS in Automotive Engineering?
What are the criteria for getting admission into a top university for doing M.S. in AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING in U.S.A. I looked up Michigan University , they say GRE is 'recommended' not necessary. So what are the other criteria to get selected.
I'm in my 3rd year of B.E. Mechanical from a reputed Indian college. GPA 9.5, CGPA 10/10 in X, 94.7 % in X 2, Captain and head of two biggest technical societies Formula SAE, BAJA SAE(Society of Automobile Engineers) of the college, international competition participation, many national level competitions (all in Automobile field). I want to do my masters from an Ivy League University, only in USA, only in Automobile Technology. |
