Re: Future of Engineering? and which branches are going to boom?
In my opinion, the Electrical ,Mechanical, and civil branch is evergreen branch.
other thing is that in which field do you wanna go like public sector or private sector.if you want to join public sector than choose these branch and In other case you choose IT/CS/Electronics branch. but at that recession time is going on.but after some time it will get end. bust of luck.... |

hii manjot,
I my point of view i suggest u to take core branches of engg.,like civil, electronics, textile, fire tech.,EE,mechanical, any many more, because this branches are green forever ,their is no recession in these sector, and by opting for core branches u have many options in govt. exams,n govt. jobs,so my suggestion is that go for core any core branch it will be beneficial for your carrier.all the best |

Re: Future of Engineering? and which branches are going to boom?
Mainly there are 4 branches of engineering.
Civil & architecture, mechanical, electrical and chemical. OF which mechanical explores the world, because engineering like (aeronautical, automobile, tools and instrumentations etc are derived branches of mechanical engineering)with there tremendous scope in todays market. Further, electrical engineering is known as mother of all engineering. Engineering likr(computer, electronics, robotics etc are derived branches of electrical engineering, with apromiseing career. FURTHER, Civil & architecture had a endless scope. Engineering like (construture etc are derived branches of this engineering. ALL engineering holds there own position,wIth a promising career. DECISSION IS YOURS. Last edited by faiyaz; 23rd November 2009 at 08:00 PM. Reason: THERE are some spelling mistakes. |

Re: Future of Engineering? and which branches are going to boom?
FIRST AND FOREMOST THERE ARE 4 MAIN BRANCHES viz. CIVIL,MECHANICAL,CHEMICAL AND ELECTRICAL.THE REST ARE RELATED FIELDS TO THESE FIELDS.THERE IS NO FIELD WHICH WE CAN SAY IS NOT BOOMING OR BLOSSOMING.THE BASIC THING IS HOW WELL CAN YOU PROSPER AND DO GOOD IN THE RESPECTIVE FIELD.THE THOUGHT IS THAT HOW DEEP AND BIG CAN YOU DIG THE WELL....

Re: Future of Engineering? and which branches are going to boom?
hiii...every branch has equal oppurtunites in engineering because every one is necessary for any orgonisation it doesnot depend completely on branches but there are some evergreen branches such as Electrical and communication engeering(E.C.E), electrical and electronics(E.E.E)in my oinion i think in the next four years Information technology (I.T),computer science (C.S.E) rocks.....but we cannot foretell our future.... i can say one thing the person with talent can survive any where in this world so take your intrested field ..

Re: Future of Engineering? and which branches are going to boom?
Dear Manjot,
The evergreen Branch is mechanical, and now the time is for infrastructure,.. For civil and architecture there is a good scope for some forthcoming 10 years,... if you have the chance for mech you should definitely select mech, or you may prefer automobile also,.... ok,... All the best, And Be the Best,.. |

Recession is much more in today's world and it is useless to do engineering in computer science. so go for mechanical, civil or electronics.

Re: Future of Engineering? and which branches are going to boom?
i think civil is the branch which will really boom.
our country is in development stage and lots of construction being done so there is really a big opportunity for all civil engineers. apart from civil other branch which will really boom is food and processing engineering. |

Re: Future of Engineering? and which branches are going to boom?
hi,
engineers have shaped the world and it demands more.so don't think that the demand for engineers have come to an end,due to recessions like this. you can see that the picture is changing ,again the companies are hiring people instead of firing people. but if you ask me about the branches which are going to boom then i will suggest you to go for core branches like: electrical mechanical and civil engineering. these are evergreen and ever demanding branches, you can never thing of loosing your job in these fields. |

Re: Future of Engineering? and which branches are going to boom?
dear friend future of engineering is very bright, you can work either in government sector or in private sector.
As per current situation software market is very booming , so you can choose CSE,IT as your career sector. But there are very few scope in govt. sector but a lot of chances in private sector. If you choose core department like ME,EE,PE,Civil, then you have a lot of chances to enter in government sectors. good luck. |
