Re: Which branch is better to take in B.Tech Engineering?
Each and every branch of engineering has immense career opportunities and scope. The selection of branch or stream of engineering should be totally done upon's one interest and not on suggestion of others. If you take any stream as suggested by others and if you find that you have no interest in that field, you may find difficult to carry on in future semesters.
There are some streams which are considered to be evergreen like mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, electronics and communication engineering etc. You can select any of these stream for better career and future job opportunities. |

Re: Which branch is better to take in B.Tech Engineering?
Every branch of engineering is better than every other branch. You should not choose your engineering branch based on what other person decided the best branch. If you are good at something then that will be the best for you.
You should choose the branch from your own interest. If you are very much attached with machine or motors then you should study in Mechanical Engineering. If you are good in computer and love computer programming then you should study on information technology or computer science engineering. If you love drawing and interested in making real estate or infrastructure then Civil engineering should be your choice. If you love electronics devices and can repair some of them then go for Electronics engineering. There are so many other engineering branch as well like production engineering, Electrical engineering, Marine engineering, Aeronautical Engineering etc. You should choose based on entirely your interest and performance. Even if you don't like in any of these engineering branches then you should not take admission in B.Tech engineering. If you are good in other subject then you study on that subject only. |

In B.Tech, selection of branch is very important. Since through we can decide our career. So you need to be careful about of type of branch. But before that you should have known your interest.
Mainly in B.Tech there are few branches which are like Ever green. >> Mechanical Engineering >> Civil Engineering >> ECE >> EEE >> Computer Science Engineering. |

All the stream are best and have very bright future options. So, you can take admission in any stream.
But, now it depends upon your interest and your aim as in which sector you want to join in future. So, select the course very carefully. Some of streams are Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Chemical, Electrical and Electronics. These are best options for you to join. |

Quote:
The number of branches may vary from college to college. You must choose that specific branch in which you have your interest so that you enjoy your branch while studying and easily grab concepts while attending lectures. Some of the core branches that are considered evergreen and available in almost every engineering college includes:
Apart from these, there are many other branches which are derived from these core branches. So, every branch is better. You can't compare one branch from another because every branch has its own significance. |

Re: Which branch is better to take in B.Tech Engineering?
To choose the branch first preference should be given to your personal interest about the field and subject matter like in which topic you've more interest. If you've interest in computer then obviously you should go for computer engineering. If you have interest on machines then mechanical engineering is the best bet for you...and so on.
Next factor is market condition. Present market condition trends of engineering students towards Petroleum, CSE, Civil, mechanical etc. Third and most important factor is college you get in to..like if you qualify for IIT then whatever stream you get there you will never miss it irrespective of of the branch you get. Plus sometimes you also have to consider reputation of engineering branch in a perticular college...for ex in some college you would like to study CSE (like UTM Shillong, BIT Ranchi are known for CSE) and while in other you may find petroleum as the most sought after branch (Like UPES) ..so college faculty, placements are also considered while making selection. Consider all the factors and then make your decision. Good luck |
