sorry to say that commerce student are not applicable for Merchant Navy exam.

Eligibility criteria for Merchant Navy course

1. Unmarried male and female candidate are eligible .
2. Candidates passing 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics are eligible for Merchant Navy course.
3. Age requirement is not more than 20 years.
4. SC/ST Students 25 years is maximum age , these categories are given relaxation of five years.

Post in Merchant Navy for which you can apply

1. Deck Cadets Post
2. Navigating Officers Post

Physical Eligibility For joining Merchant navy as Deck Cadet are as follows: -

A candidate should be physically and mentally fit.

1. Eye Sight = 6/6,

2. Height = 167 cms,

3. Weight = 50 Kg

4. Chest = 77 cm (Normal) / 82 cm (Expanding)

hello friend,
those candidates who wants to join merchants navy, must have PCM in +2 for officers and for other ranks it may be commerce stream or arts stream.
but as you have commerce , so i can say you can join navy in law rank side.
and +2 student with commerce stream can join indian navy.

Can a commerce stream student can join Indian navy if yes then what should be the qualification and what will be the sallary

As per the eligibility, for joining Indian Navy you need to have Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects, which you don't fulfill. So you can't join Navy or Air Force.

But in case you change you mind and plan to join Indian Army, then you can join it as you fulfill the criteria. For this you can get good study material from Edu4share.com

Hi,

You need minimum of 55% to be eligible for appear for NDA exam. Since, you have commerce stream, so you are not eligible to join Navy, but yes you can join Army.

In case you want study material for NDA(to join army), then check out edu4share.com. There you will get good preparation material.

It is sorry to say that you cannot go for the Merchant Navy with this qualification. Because for the merchant navy one must have to complete his or her + 2 from the PCM background.I.e. Aspirant must have physics , chemistry and mathematics as a major subject in class 12th.

As you have completed your class 12 from the commerce section ,so that is why you cannot go for the merchant navy.
