Yes you can join N.D.A after passing 12th with commerce stream.
For this you have to qualify the N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C.
N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass 12th with recognized university
> Age limit:-16.5-19 year.
> Must be citizen of India
> Medically fit

There are three steep of selection:-
> Written Exam
> Interview
> Medical exam

IMPORTANT DATES FOR N.D.A. & N.A. EXAM.(I), 2012
Date of Notification:-31.12.2011
Last date of receipt of form:-30.01.2012(MONDAY)
Date of exam:-15.04.2012(SUNDAY)

Yes, Definitely Commerce students are eligible to apply for NDA Examination.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy and this examination is Conducted by UPSC Twice in a year and to apply for this examination you have to complete your 12Th examination from a recognised Board, Final year appearing candidates are also apply for NDA Examination.

This examination is Conducted for the recruitment of these 3 Wings of NDA :

>> Army wings
>> Naval Wings
>> Air Force Wings

Commerce Students are eligible to apply for Army wings.

But Only Unmarried Male candidates between the age of 16.5 to 19 Years are eligible to apply for NDA Examination.

So, If you are Interested then please fill the NDA Application form Online soon before the last date.

The Notification of NDA (I) 2012 Examination was Already Published and the last date of apply for this examination 30/Jan/2012.

Sorry to say that commerce student are not eligible for NDA exam.

NDA - Stands for National Defence Academy


This examination is conducted by the Union public service commission (UPSC) twice in a year.

As my knowledge there are some basic and important eligibility criteria are described below-

AGE: - Your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

NOTE: - Only unmarried males are eligible.

Educational Qualification : - candidates must passed 10+12th with Physics and Maths and have to minimal 60% in 10th.

NOTE : - Candidates must be physically and medically fit for the NDA test.

Hi Friend,

A commerse student can apply for NDA but they can only get admission in Indian Milatary wing.

to get admission in Navy or Airforce you should compulsarily have completed your 12 with maths and physics subjects.

only an unmarried male candidate under age 16.6 to 19 can only apply for NDA.

to apply for NDA one should pass 12 or equivalent from any recognised board.

Yes, my friend commerce students can also apply for Indian Army..

For that you have to qualify in NDA exam.

After qualifying in NDA exam you have to go through the 5 days SSB interview.

If you able to crack that interview then you will get a chance to join in Indian Army.

Eligibility for NDA exam:-

For Army wing:-

1.Candidate must have complete the 12th in any trade.
2.candidates age should be in between 16.5-19 years.
3.candidate must be physically fit.
4.candidate must be unmarried male.
5.candidate should be a citizen of india.

These are the eligibility criteria you need to fulfill.

Yes commerce students are allowed to appear for the NDA examination .This examination is conducted to recruit students in different fields like ::

1.ARMY
2.NAVY
3.AIR FORCE

This examination is conducted by UPSC.The examination is held two times in a year generally in month of April and August.

Eligibility for the exam ::

Interested candidates must have passed your class 12th examination in any streams for the ARMY and you must have physics and maths a s a compulsory subjects for the NAVY and AIR FORCE .

You should not be less then 16.5 and more then 19 years

Written examination consist of two papers ::

Paper I:: It carries 300 Marks and is of maths and duration of the examination is 2-1/2 hours

Paper II ::It carries 600 marks and duration of the examination is 2-1/2 hours .It consist of English and General ability paper.

General Ability Test will be broken into 6 parts. The allocated marks are:

Physics – This topic will carry 100 marks.
Chemistry – This topic will carry 60 marks.
General section – This topic will carry 40 marks.
History, Freedom Movement – This topic will carry 80 marks.
Geography – This topic will carry 80 marks.
Current Events – This topic will carry 40 marks.

NDA stands for the National Defense Academy. It is an entrance examination in India which is organized and conducted by the UPSC every year to recruit candidates for the various wings of the Indian Defense them being :

-> Army
-> Navy
-> Air Force


Now as you ask, I would say that YEAH surely commerce students can apply for the NDA exam but since they do not have physics and (and some don't have maths) so they can only apply for the Army wing.


The Basic Eligibility Criteria's to apply for the NDA exam are :


1. You should be an Unmarried Male Indian National.

2. Your age should be within 16.5 to 19 years.

3. You must be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school or state board.

4. You should be physically fit.


The notification for the NDA has been out very recently on 31st December 2011.

Please make sure you apply for this exam before 30th January 2012.


The NDA exam date is fixed on 15th April 2012 (Sunday).
