Re: Can I appear for CAT entrance exam? What is the criteria to give the exam?
You can appear for the Common Admission Test after clearing graduation. Only if you meets the percentage criteria in graduation, you will be allowed to appear for the Common Admission Test.
CAT is the most popular MBA entrance exam which is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management. The IIMs are considered best colleges for management studies. There are other reputed colleges like Indian Institutes of Technology, National Institutes of Technology, Indian Institute of Science etc that also offer admission for the management courses through the Commom Admission Test. However the first priority of the candidates is to take admission in Indian Institutes of Management. But it is not going to be easy. You will have to score extremely well and then apply for admission in as many IIMs as possible. The Master of Business Administration is the 2 years post graduation course in management. Although IIMs offer a post graduation diploma in management, it is considered equal to the post graduation MBA degree. You can apply for MBA in various streams like: Economics Banking Retail Management Marketing IT Human Resources Finance CAT Eligibility 1. To apply for CAT, you should have under graduate degree. 2. Must have at least 50 percent marks in it. 3. SC/ST need 45 percent marks. You should not apply for the CAT exam now. Right now you are in second year of Bachelor of Commerce. The criteria is that candidates who have completed the graduation and now waiting for results can apply for CAT when it will be conducted in October/November. But they will have to submit the degree next year by June 30. |
