Yes you can appear in the IAS exam after completing the B.Tech course. However I should tell you that IAS is one of the toughest exams to crack and it would require hard work to qualify the exam. To become an IAS officer you will have to qualify the Civil Service Examination by UPSC.

ELIGIBILITY

Nationality:

Candidate must be Indian.

Age Limits:

You age should be between 21 to 30 years as of August 1 of the examination year.

There is 3 years relaxation for OBC Candidate.

Up to 5 years relaxation in upper age for SC/ST candidates.

Qualification:

You must be graduate in any stream from a recognised university.

Number of Attempts:

General - 4

OBC - 7

SC/ST - No Limits

Exam pattern:

Preliminary examination:
Main examination
After that Interview test.

The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers at takes place in the month of May/June.

There are 2 papers in the Preliminary Examination of 200 marks each. You will get 2 hours to complete each paper.

Only if you passed the Preliminary Examination, you would be eligible to appear in the Main exam that consists of 9 papers. The Main Examination generally takes place in October/November.

Paper 1 - You will have to select one of the 18 languages of India for this exam.

Paper 2 - English (qualifying paper)

Paper 3 - Essay

Paper 4 and Paper 5 - General Studies

For the remaining papers you will have to choose 2 subjects. There would be two papers of each subjects. These subjects are:

Agriculture

Anthropology

Chemistry

Botany

Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science

Civil Engineering

Indian History

Chemistry

Economics

Geology

Geography

Commerce & Accountancy

Civil Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Yes, you can apply for IAS after completion of B.Tech.

To become an IAS(Indian Administrative Officer) officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

ELIGIBILITY FOR IAS CIVIL SERVICE EXAM:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National
-Should have either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University.
-Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years.

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT -CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST - PRELIMINARY EXAM

-CIVIL SERVICE MAIN EXAM

-PERSONAL INTERVIEW

As you are pursing B.Tech. after completion of which you can apply for IAS through Civil Service Exam.

yes, you can definitely appear for the exam as the eligibility age for the exam is 30 yrs so you are qualified for this exam. the age is mos important criteria than any other thing.

when we talk about the syllabus is concerned there are quite a few papers to appear among which you can appear in 3 papers without much of a trouble and for the rest you will need to learn from the basics..

you can surely apply for CSAT or civil services exam which is conducted by Union public service commission every year..since now, you are doing B.tech course hence are eligible since the minimum eligibility required for this are as under ::

I think to get selected in top hundreds from 3-4 lakh aspirants is a tough job.But still as you are doing B.tech hence for motivating you let me tell you that most of the selected candidates are the Engineering graduates .But this does not assures you that you will get selected,if you have done your good preparation for it then only you will get selected.

AS you are interested for IAS exam , The details eligibility criteria for IAS exam are as follows.......

Age limits :


21-30 years as on 1.7.2012. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other
categories .

Educational Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.

No. of permissible attempts :

Four (Seven attempts of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs) .

AS you are doing B.tech , after your degree or in final year you can apply for IAS exam, for this you have to apply for Civil Service Exam.

Hii

Yes , Every graduate candidate is eligible for the UPSC civil service exam .
As you are B.Tech student so that you are also eligible for the IES exam .

The criteria for the Civil Service exam is below :
-> one should done their graduation from any recognized university .
-> your age must be between 21-30 for general cast , 21-33 for obc cast , 21-35 for sc/st cast , 21-40 for physically handicapped .
-> For general cast maximum 4 attempts are allowed , for obc 7 attempts and for sc/st no limit for the number of attempts .

The criteria for the IES exam is below :
-> one should done their B.E. / B.Tech from any recognized university .
-> one age should be between 21-30 for general cast , 21-33 for obc cast , 21-35 for sc/st cast , 21-40 fro physically handicapped .

Both the exam have different structure so start the prepare for the exam and give it .

Yes you can apply for IAS exam after completing B tech.IAS exams are conducted by UPSC every year as civil services exams.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Hai,

Yes after completion of your b.tech you are applicable for IAS(Indian Administrative Service). Being a candidate of completes any degree is eligible for IAS exam.

There are stages in selection process, but first you are eligible for some conditions that are mentioned below.

Educational qualification:-

Candidate should be complete graduation or any equivalent degree from a recognised university.

Being a candidate of persuing final degree is also eligible for this exam.

You can complete your bachelor's degree in any stream and percentage is not required to appear this exam.

Age criteria:-

For General candidates--> 21 years to 30 years,

For OBC candidates--> 21 years to 33 years,

For SC/ST candidates--> 21 years to 35 years.


Selection process:-

Civil services preliminary examination,

Civil services main exam,

Personal interview.


No.of attempts:-

4 times for General category candidates,

7 times for OBC categor candidates,

No limit for SC/ST category candidates.

yes you can give ias exam after doing b.tech.
the minimum qualifications required by a student for appearing in the exam is that the student must have done graduation in any field with atleast 60% marks.
the age limit for the exam is 21 to 30 years which can increase to 35 years for sc/st students.

yes you can apply UPSC exam.civil service exam is conducting by UPSC every year to select the suitable candidate for IAS,IPS,IFS,etc..

Basic qualificatoin to apply UPSC exam is:

1.candidate should be an INDIAN

2.should have graduation

3.scored above 45% in 10,12 and 50% in graduatoin

4.Age limit should be i)21-30 for general candidates
ii)21-33 for obc candidates
iii)21-35 for sc,st candidates

Those qualification meet the above criteria can apply UPSC exam.

yes, ofcurse you are eligible for IAS after completing B.tech engineering.

For applying IAS you have to following qualification:

- A Candidate should have completed their 12th from any stream from recognise university.

- Cityzenship of India.

- Age limit should be between 21 to 30 years.
There is a relaxation in upper age for obc and sc/st category available.

- you have to pass civil apptitude test for applying IAS.

No. Attempt:

General- 4 attempt
Obc- 7 attempt
Sc/St- No limit.
