my dear friend.
Yes you can give the exam of i.a.s exam in future........when you will be in 8th semester then at that time.
You can fill the form,
And if you are from general category then you will get 5 chance for this..
And the best way for preparation is strong your general knowledge and current affairs.
Also ..there is no any departmental paper of IT in IAS exam,
So select the paper in which you have more strong.
And prepare that chapter from right now.
O k
All the best\

The eligibility for writng IAS exam, i.e. civil service exam conducted by UPSC, you need to be a graduate from a recognised university.

There are three stages of the exam
1.Preliminary exam
2.Main exam
3.Interview

To, qualify the civil service exam, you will need to keep yourself updated with the exam patterns and must consult good study materials for its preparation.
Following is the list of optional subjects from which you can select the subject of your expertise.

Agriculture ,Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science ,Botany ,Chemistry Civil Engineering ,Commerce ,Economics ,Electrical Engineering ,Geography,Geology ,Indian History ,Law ,Mathematics,Management ,Mechanical Engineering ,Medical Science ,Philosophy ,Physics ,Political Science ,Psychology Public Administration, Sociology ,Statistics ,Zoology ,Anthropology

Try to consult books written by as many authors as possible along with IGNOU study materials which is one of the most important study material for the preparation.

HI!

Surely, you can apply for IAS exam in future.

Though the minimum educational qualification required for appearing in IAS exam is that the candidate should hold a bachelors degree with 60% marks but final year students can also apply subject to obtaining degree within the prescribed time.

If you are confident of yourself then you can crack IAS exam by self study otherwise you can take help of coaching institutes.

Selection of right books & study materials is the key to success in IAS exam

Hello,

Yes you can appear for IAS exam after B.Tech.Its good that you have made up your mind to appear for this exam.Well the course will depend upon you.If you feel that you can make it through this exam without any coaching that you can prepare it on your own and appear for it.If not then it will be better for you to take up some course related to this exam and try to make it at one go only.

All the best.
