As per the eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification the candidate should have secured above 50%. They donot round off the percentage. Even if a candidate has secured 49.99% then too the candidate will not be eligible to apply for this exam. You only have the option to complete your graduation and then apply. They have not mentioned a minimum cut off for the graduates.

Re: Can I apply for IBPS Clerk Written exam after scoring 49.4% in 12th?
Eligibility criteria for IBPS exam -
1. 12th from any recognized board . 2. Minimum 55% marks in 12th. 3.Age limit = 18 to 28 years . 4.Nationality = Indian * 5 years of age relaxation and 5% of marks relaxation for sc/st candidates given. So for the sc/st candidates marks required = 50% minimum . As you have 49.4% in 12th, so you are not eligible even through relaxation . So i think you can't apply for the exam . Thank you |

My friend, banking sector always wants minimum 60% marks in your 12th standard. But there are some other banks also who does not have such criteria.
Such as : 1.Grameen bank 2.Bank of Baroda 3.HDFC But as your 12th standard marks is below 60% so you can not sit for leading banks like SBI,ICICI in our country. |

It does not matter how much marks you have managed to obtain in 12th standard because to appear for the IBPS Clerk you should have minimum of graduation degree. Which means you are not yet eligible for the IBPS Clerk exam.
Apply for graduation course in any recognized college and only after you have completed it, apply for the IBPS Clerk entrance exam. Now only school passed candidates are no longer eligible. The criteria was changed by the Institute of Banking Personnel Services on the request of banks participating in the entrance exam. The new criteria is as following. IBPS Clerk Eligibility 1. You should have Indian nationality. 2. Must have completed Bachelor's degree. 3. There is no marks criteria. 4. You should have diploma or degree in Computers. 5. Alternatively Computers should be subject in 12th or college. 6. Age limit for General is 20 to 28 years. 7. Age limit for OBC is 20 to 31 years. 8. SC/ST can apply up to 33 years. 9. PWD can apply till 38 years. List of Banks Participating in IBPS Clerk Allahabad Bank Andhra Bank Bank of Baroda Bank of Maharashtra Bank of India Central Bank of India Canara Bank Dena Bank Corporation Bank Indian Overseas Bank Indian Bank Punjab National Bank Oriental Bank of Commerce Syndicate Bank Punjab & Sind Bank United Bank of India Union Bank of India Vijaya Bank UCO Bank |

Irrespective of your percentage of marks in 12th class, you are not eligible to give IBPS Exam as the minimum academic qualification that is required for the candidates to apply for IBPS Exam is Graduation.
IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) is conducting common written exam separately for the below mentioned positions for all public sector banks Clerical positions Probationary Officers The selection procedure would involve Written Exam Interview The written exam consists of questions from the following categories. Reasoning Quantitative Aptitude General Awareness General English Computer and Marketing knowledge There is negative marking for the wrong answer questions in written exam. To apply for Clerk positions, you should have completed Graduation in any of the stream. But to apply for PO positions, you should have completed your Graduation with a minimum of 60% of marks. One should be a citizen of India to apply for this exam. One should be in the age group of 20-28 years to apply for this Exam. So first complete your graduation and then you will be eligible to apply for IBPS Exams. Wish you all the best. |
