As per the eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification the candidate should have secured above 50%. They donot round off the percentage. Even if a candidate has secured 49.99% then too the candidate will not be eligible to apply for this exam. You only have the option to complete your graduation and then apply. They have not mentioned a minimum cut off for the graduates.

Eligibility criteria for IBPS exam -
1. 12th from any recognized board .
2. Minimum 55% marks in 12th.
3.Age limit = 18 to 28 years .
4.Nationality = Indian

* 5 years of age relaxation and 5% of marks relaxation for sc/st candidates given.
So for the sc/st candidates marks required = 50% minimum .
As you have 49.4% in 12th, so you are not eligible even through relaxation .
So i think you can't apply for the exam .

Thank you

My friend, banking sector always wants minimum 60% marks in your 12th standard. But there are some other banks also who does not have such criteria.
Such as :
1.Grameen bank
2.Bank of Baroda
3.HDFC

But as your 12th standard marks is below 60% so you can not sit for leading banks like SBI,ICICI in our country.

No unfortunately with your class 12 board exam marks you cannot apply for IBPS Exam anymore. Earlier as we have seen at least for the clerical cadre post 12th pass outs were allowed to apply for this exam but not anymore. Now the minimum qualification required to apply for the IBPS CWE exam irrespective of which post you are planning to apply for, you need to have a graduate degree.

For the IBPS Clerk exam you need a degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The minimum percentage to acquire at graduation level have not been mentioned so if you get the pass marks then that is more than enough.

You must have operating and working knowledge of computer systems. You need to show the authorities concerned certificate / Diploma / Degree in computer operations/Language. It will do if you have studied computer at 10+2 level or grad level.

The new rule suggests that now the candidates can only apply in one State. So before you do that make sure you know the local language of that State pretty well. You need to know how to read and write in the local language of that state.

Age Criteria:- 20-28 years.

Age Relaxation:-

Relaxation is available for the following candidates:-
  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe - 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) - 3 years
  • Persons With Disabilities – 10 years
Exam Pattern:-
  1. Reasoning
  2. English Language
  3. Quantitative Aptitude
  4. General Awareness
  5. Computer Knowledge
Hope this helps :-> :->

It does not matter how much marks you have managed to obtain in 12th standard because to appear for the IBPS Clerk you should have minimum of graduation degree. Which means you are not yet eligible for the IBPS Clerk exam.

Apply for graduation course in any recognized college and only after you have completed it, apply for the IBPS Clerk entrance exam. This is the basic qualification requirement for the IBPS Clerk exam.

12th standard pass students were earlier eligible for the exam. But since last year the criteria has been changed to graduation. Now only school passed candidates are no longer eligible.

The criteria was changed by the Institute of Banking Personnel Services on the request of banks participating in the entrance exam. The new criteria is as following.

3. There is no marks criteria.

Irrespective of your percentage of marks in 12th class, you are not eligible to give IBPS Exam as the minimum academic qualification that is required for the candidates to apply for IBPS Exam is Graduation.

IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) is conducting common written exam separately for the below mentioned positions for all public sector banks
Clerical positions
Probationary Officers

The selection procedure would involve
Written Exam
Interview

The written exam consists of questions from the following categories.

Reasoning
Quantitative Aptitude
General Awareness
General English
Computer and Marketing knowledge

There is negative marking for the wrong answer questions in written exam.

To apply for Clerk positions,
you should have completed Graduation in any of the stream.

But to apply for PO positions,
you should have completed your Graduation with a minimum of 60% of marks.

One should be a citizen of India to apply for this exam.

One should be in the age group of 20-28 years to apply for this Exam.

So first complete your graduation and then you will be eligible to apply for IBPS Exams.

Wish you all the best.
