Re: Am I eligible to apply for IBPS Clerk Exam after scoring 58% of marks in 12th Class and pursuing BA course?
Well firstly you will have to decide whether to go for Clerk Exam now or wait till completing the graduation course and apply for Bank PO exam. Because in any circumstances I would recommend that you complete the graduation course and apply for the Bank PO exam. That is far better option comparing to appearing for the IBPS Clerk Exam.
IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection and its responsibility is to conduct exams to find candidates for the various jobs in the Public Sector banks. A total of 19 Public Sector Undertaking Banks accept the IBPS exam results. The recuitment for Clerk and PO posts in these banks are done through IBPS Clerk and IBPS Bank PO Exam. Some of the banks are Dena Bank Bank of Baroda UCO Bank Indian Overseas Bank Syndicate Bank of India Andhra Bank Canara Bank Allahabad Bank Punjab National Bank Now you want to appear for the IBPS Clerk exam with 58 percent marks in 12th standard. You are eligible to appear for the IBPS Clerk Exam as you are meeting the percentage requirement. But since you are studying BA course why don't you complete the graduation and apply for the IBPS PO Exam. It would be better option. Don't worry you would also be eligible to apply for IBPS Clerk Exam after completing graduation course. IBPS Clerk Eligibility 1. Candidate who has completed 10th with 60 percent marks is eligible for IBPS Clerk Exam. SC/ST/OBC only have to pass 10th class. There is no percentage requirement 2. You need to complete Class 12th with 50 percent marks. Candidates from SC/ST/OBC just need to pass Class 12th 3. You can also apply after complete graduation in any stream from a recognised university. Age Limit The age limit to appear in IBPS Clerk Exam is 18 to 28 years. However there is relaxation in upper age limit: For SC/ST candidate - 5 years OBC(Non creamy Layer) - 3 years Persons with disabilities - 10years IBPS PO Eligibility 1. A graduation degree in any stream from a recognised college in India. 2. You age should be between 20 to 30 years. 3. The upper age limit for SC/ST candidates is 35 years. 4. The upper age limit for OBC is relaxed by 3 years. |

Dear am very sorry that you can not apply for IBPS if you are a general candidate because minimum percentage is 60% in 10+2 for gen candidate and you are pursuing BA not qualify till yet . there are some age capping for candidate which is 20 to 30 for gen and 20 to 33 for obc candidate and 20 to 35 for sc, st candidate.
please remember that SBI is not included in IBPS its recruitment is separate from IBPS. But for future IBPS is two type 1 one who relates with 19 national bank 2 who relates regional rural bank (RRB) which contain rural banking like. GURGAON GRAMEEN BANK etc. |

Until very recently we saw that for the post of clerks even H.S. or equivalent exams passed candidates were also allowed to sit for the exam but not anymore. Now to sit for the IBPS CWE exam the candidates needs to complete their graduation first. It is a mandatory criteria which one needs to satisfy for any post they apply. IBPS conducts one of the most coveted bank exam which every bank aspirant looks forward to is the IBPS CWE exam or Common Written Exam. This exam is also conducted for various other posts like clerical post, probationary officers, specialist officers etc. 20 public sector banks takes part in it and if you successfully crack this exam then you will get to apply in any one of them with your IBPS score card whenever there is a vacancy available. The validity of the score card is one year. As far as the educational qualification is concerned as mentioned earlier you can get the degree in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university. Without the degree you wont be allowed to sit for this exam. The lower age limit for this year's exam is 20 years and for general category candidates the upper age limit remains 28 years. There is however age relaxation for the reserved category candidates. There is 5 years age relaxation for the SC/ST candidates, 3 years age relaxation for the OBC candidates and 10 years age relaxation for the physically disabled candidates. You will be asked to show proof that you have computer skills. This proof can be produced in the form of your mark sheet of +2, if you had computer science as a subject, or a certificate course from a recognized institute. Apart from that this year you have the option to apply in only one National Bank in one state. So before you apply make sure that you are proficient in writing and speaking the local language of that State. Hope this helps :-> :-> |

As per the norms of IBPS for the year 2013 the candidate is eligible for the IBPS Clerk exam only if he or she is a graduate securing 60% marks .
There is relaxation of 5 % marks for the categories other than general . Since you haven't mentioned your graduation marks I can't suggest your eligibility . |
