Eligibility For Civil Services Exam

According to the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) guidelines.. a candidate must be fulfilling these conditions for appearing for the exam :-

>> Your age must be between 21-30 years if you belong to the general category..21-33 years if you belong to OBC category and 21-35 years if you are an SC/ST

>> Candidates must have also cleared their graduation from a recognized institute in any stream..

>> General candidates can appear for the exam a maximum of 4 times, OBC can appear 7 times and SC/ST can appear in the exam till their age permits..

Since IGNOU is a recognized University hence you are definitely eligible for appearing in the exam provided you satisfy the age criterion..

Indian Administration Service exam is held once in year is conducted by UPSC

Minimum Eligibility for IAS exam

Minimum Qualification

1.Graduated from recognized university in any discipline.
2.final year student can also apply.

Age should be between

21 to 30 years for General category candidates
21to 33 year for OBC category candidates
21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates

Number of attempts:

4 attempts for General category candidates.
7 attempts for Obc category candidates
14 attempts for SC/ST category candidates.

There are 3 stages in IAS that should be cleared by the candidate.

first one is preliminary exam (it is objective type exam)
second is main exam (Question to be answer in length)
third is personal interview

Clearing one will get you to another level exam.

Yes, you are eligible to Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year after completion of Graduation from IGNOU.

As per terms and condition of UPSC:-

An eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years which the upper age relaxed for SC/ST up to 5 years and for OBC up to 3 years.

As IGNOU is recognised by UGC, Graduation from this University is eligible for Civil Service Exam.

The selection is through three phases:-

CSAT-Civil Service Aptitude Test-Preliminary Exam

Civil Service Main Exam

Personal Interview

I am happy to inform you that you are eligible for I.A.S exam after passing graduation from I.G.N.O.U.

After graduation you can apply for I.A.S exam.
I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Age should be in between 21-30 year. For ST/SC candidate age should be in between 21-33 year.

You can apply online or offline.
The Form cost is just 20 Rs.
