I have joined diploma electrical & electronics engineering but i have interest in mechanical engineering can i change my branch from E&E to Mechanical engineering in the 2nd or 3rd semister

After completion of first semester you cannot go for change in field. But while you are in 1st semester , before the exams start for mechanical branch you should take admission in it.

Thus, you should select the college where you want admission and talk to the management directly. You can get admission on management qouta if seats are vacant.So you should apply for it and talk to the college authority about the matter.

Change of branch:
yes,you can do so but you have to give application to the department in which you are currently studying after completing the 1st year.
You have to score more in electrical and electronics only then your chances are higher.

No, If at the time of admission you can talk with your college Administration then there is some way if there is vacancy in Mechanical branch then they can give you a seat in that stream , but in 2nd or 3rd Semester it is not possible to change the stream .

But nothing to worried about it after completion of diploma , When you will do B.Tech at that time you can take admission in Mechanical branch there is no problem .

>> you should thought about it at the time of admission that In which stream you are interested in the diploma engineering it is not possible to change the stream in middle of the course as this is possible only in the b.tech because in first every student comes under the basic science and after that if you want can change the stream in second year.

>> so you Don,t have any option for the stream changing in diploma.

The branch change in case of bachelor of technology is only allowed after first year if you score required percentage of marks needed for the branch change. So it is possible to change branch from EE to mechanical engineering.

You must meet your Head of Department for further details regarding branch change and percentage of marks required in first year for it. Generally branch change option is only possible when seats are vacant in other stream or some other candidate is also willing to change branch.
