Re: Can I get admission in IAS after completing diploma or B.Tech?
Graduates in any subject can apply for IAS. There is no need for pursuing any separate course. Application for attending the selection test can be submitted through the web portal of UPSC. There will be two stages for selection, prelims and mains. Age of the applicant must be less than 30 years.

Re: Can I get admission in IAS after completing diploma or B.Tech?
You can appear for IAS entrance exam with B.Tech degree but not with diploma. If you have option to choose between the two, I would recommend B.Tech course. The diploma course is not considered equal to graduation which is why diploma holders are not eligible for Civil Service Examination.
On the other hand B.Tech graduates will not have any such issue since any graduation course is acceptable for Civil Service Examination for Indian Administrative Service. If you have already done diploma then you should take admission for B.Tech. This can be done through Lateral Entry Engineering Test (LEET). This entrance exam allows diploma holders to take admission in B.Tech via lateral entry scheme, which means admission in second year of the engineering course. IAS Eligibility 1. You should be of Indian origin. 2. Bachelor degree in any discipline is required. 3. There is no percentage criteria. 4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years. 5. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC. 6. Upto 5 years relaxation for SC and ST. Selection Process 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Main Exam 3. Personal Interview Attempts 1. General - 4 2. OBC - 7 3. SC and ST - No limit. |

Re: Can I get admission in IAS after completing diploma or B.Tech?
The essential qualification for IAS examination is Graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognised University.
Those who are having only Diploma can not apply for IAS examination. Along with Graduation you also have to satisfy age criteria then only you will be allowed to apply for IAS examination. The age criteria for IAS examination is given below for different categories: General Category- 21 to 30 years OBC Category - 21 to 33 years SC/ST Category - 21 to 35 years Hence if you have Graduation along with above mentioned age then you are surely eligible for IAS examination. You have to pass IAS examination with merit then only you will be considered for the IAS post. There are 3 stages in IAS examination: -Civil Services Aptitude Test -Civil Services Mains -Personal Interview Hence you have to be very well prepared for above exam if you are serious about becoming an IAS officer.
