Can i join indian navy after comepliting mechanical diploma after std 10th ?

Diploma is considered as equivalent to 12th standard. Therefore you can join Indian Navy thorough NDA exam.

NDA exam stands for National Defense Service which is conducted by UPSC twice in a year.

Eligibility for NDA exam:

You should have passed 12th standard or its equivalent from a recognized university.

Your age should be between 16.5-19 years.

Only unmarried male candidates can apply NDA exam.

You must be physically as well as mentally fit.

Yes, diploma in mechanical engineering candidates are eligible for Indian Navy through NDA exam.

NDA stands for National Defence Service exam. NDA Examination is conducted for 3 wings-Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Army.

Candidates who have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for NDA exam. Final year of 12th standard candidate are eligible for NDA exam.

Your age should be in between to 16.5 years to 19 years. There is no age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

# There are two major ways by which you can join Indian Navy which are:

* National Defence Academy (NDA) Examination
* Combined Defence Service (CDS) Examination

# For NDA Examination, candidate must be 10+2 in any stream. But you have done diploma in mechanical rather than 10+2. But you are still eligible for NDA Examination because diploma is equivalent to intermediate.

# For CDS Examination, candidate must be graduate in any discipline. But presently you are not possessing any bachelor degree. Here you are advised to go for bachelor degree in mechanical. For this you have to take lateral entry or admission in degree course in mechanical engineering on the basis of possessing diploma in mechanical engineering.

# Age limits required in NDA Examination is 16.5-19 years.

# Age limit required in CDS Examination:

* 19-22 years for Naval Academy (NA)
* 19-23 years for Indian Air Force (AFA)
* 19-24 years for Indian Military Academy (IMA)
* 19-25 years for Officer Training Academy (OTA)

# Other common conditions required are:

* Must be Indian citizen.
* Must be unmarried.
* Must be physically and medicall fit in all respect.
* Must have good moral character.
