NET stands for National Eligibility test
SET stands for State Eligibility test

The eligibility criteria for both these examinations was same, NET is the national level examination and SET is state level examination conducted by state universities. The pattern of examination is mostly the same as NET Examination, both these examinations is conducted for the post of Lectureship.

But NET Examination is also certified candidate for the post of Junior Research fellowship.

To apply for both these examination, you have to complete your post graduate degree course with minimum 55% marks from a recognized University, final year appearing candidates are also eligible for this examination, the examination conducted twice in a year.

You have to choose the subjects on the basis of your post graduation, the examination is totally objective with no negative marking. you can download the syllabus and pattern for the examination from the official website.

If you have already completed your post graduation then you can apply for these examination.

You must have attained the age of 19 years to apply for both these examinations.

The notification of NET Examination is going to be announced soon in next month. If you want more details then check official website.

Dear Friend,

* NET Stands for National Eligibility Test.

* The Acronym "SET" stands for State Eligibility Test.

As far as i am concerned , you can write both of these exams if you fulfill the below mentioned :

* You must have completed your post graduation from any recognized university.

* You must have a minimum of 55% marks in your post graduation.

* There is no age limit for the post of Lecturer but your age should not cross in case of JRF.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.
