Hello Friend,
Marketing and manufacturing are two sides of the same coin. Both are interlinked. If your experience is in marketing for finished goods then its of no use in manufacturing department but if its in marketing of raw materials, semi processed or semi finished goods then your experience will be valuable. Also as you have not stated your qualification so i cant say whether you have the skills in the technical side of manufacturing. So if you are in direct marketing then your career is in marketing and not manufacturing.
