Bachelor of Education is compulsory. But if you have diploma in education then also you are eligible for government school teacher job.

The entrance examination for job is Teacher Eligibility test.

Those who have passed Bachelor's degree in Education and Bachelor's degree can apply for TET exam. You can also apply for CTET conducted by CBSE.

Yes, B.Ed is compulsory qualification if you want to get recruitment as TGT or PGT in government school.

If you want to appear for examination for recruitment as Primary teacher then the required qualification is that candidate must have passed minimum senior secondary and have diploma in elementary education certificate.

So, as per your eligibility you can appear for examination and after qualifying in all the stages will become eligible for final recruitment as teacher.

CTET is conducted by CBSE for recruitment as Central government teacher in government schools.

Examination is conducted by state government for recruitment as teacher in state government schools.

For detail information about examination visit at www.ctet.nic.in.

The acronym B.Ed stands for Bachelor of Education.

It is a teacher training course and has become compulsory for teaching jobs. Even if you have done D.Ed then also, you can apply for teaching jobs.

The name of entrance exam is Teacher Eligibility Test.

Graduates with B.Ed course can apply for this examination.

Since you are interested in becoming a teacher in government schools then for that you need to qualify TET ( Teacher Eligibility Test ).

Basically, TETs are of two kinds. One is CTET ( Central Teacher Eligibility Test ) which is held by CBSE for recruitment of teachers in Centrally funded government schools like KV, JNV, etc. and another one is State TETs which is held by the concerned state board for recruitment of teachers in schools funded by the concerned state government.

Further, I would also like to mention one thing here that for appearing in any of these TETs additional degrees like D.El.Ed ( Diploma in Elementary Education ) or B.Ed ( Bachelor of Education is compulsory.

For recruitment as teacher in government schools you are required to qualify TET ( Teacher Eligibility Test ) such as CTET or State TET.

Further, as far as you are concerned about the compulsion of B.Ed ( Bachelor of Education ) for getting government teacher job then yes it is compulsory in case you want to be eligible for becoming a teacher of secondary or senior secondary school along with primary school. Apart from B.Ed you can even go for D.Ed ( Diploma in Education ) degree but in this case you can apply in TET for becoming teacher upto Class VIII only i.e; primary school.
