1)What is the NET Exam Pattern?

-->they are Divided into Three Section

Part 'A'

-->Common to all Subject

-->Questions from this Section Will be Coming from General Science,Quantitative reasoning & Analysis and Research Aptitude

Part 'B'

-->Multiple Choice Question Based on the Subject Selected by the Candidate

Part 'C'

-->Descriptive Question from the Subject Selected by the Candidate

-->This may test the candidate's Knowledge of Scientific Concept and knowledge

General Information

-->Negative Marks for Wrong Answers

--.National Eligibility Test Conducted by the University Grants Commission for junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship

EXAM SCHEME FOR SINGLE PAPER CSIR-UGC NET Exam

This New pattern is Implementing from This Year June Exam.

CSIR-UGC NET Exam for Science stream is conducted by CSIR in the following areas: -
  1. Chemical Sciences
  2. Earth Sciences
  3. Life Sciences
  4. Mathematical Sciences
  5. Physical Sciences
  • It has been decided to introduce Single Paper MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) based test from June 2011 exam. The pattern for the Single Paper MCQ test shall be as given below:-

    • The MCQ test paper of each subject shall carry a maximum of 200 marks.
    • The exam shall be for duration of three hours.
    • The question paper shall be divided in three parts
  • Part 'A' shall be common to all subjects. This part shall be a test containing a maximum of 20 questions of General Science and Research Aptitude test. The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions of two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200

  • Part 'B' shall contain subject-related conventional MCQs. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200. The maximum number of questions to be attempted shall be in the range of 25-35.

  • Part 'C' shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 100 out of 200.
  • Note* A negative marking for wrong answers, wherever required, shall be @ 25%

EXAM PATTERN FOR UGC NET EXAM

The UGC NET Test consists of three papers. They are divided into two separate sessions. The breakup of the papers is as follows:
Session Paper Marks Duration
First I 100 1¼ Hours
First II 100 1¼ Hours
Second III 200 2½ Hours

Paper-I

This paper is of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It is designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

UGC has decided to provide choice to the candidates from the December 2009 UGC NET onwards. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated

Paper-II

It shall consist of fifty (50) short questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. All questions are compulsory and carry 2 marks.

Paper-III

This part consists of only descriptive questions from the subject selected by the candidate. The candidate will be required to attempt questions in the space provided in the Test Booklet.

the pattern if CSIR -NET is changing from this time

there will be single MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) 3 hours based test.

maximum of 20 questions of General Science and Research Aptitude test. The candidates
shall be required to answer any 15 questions of two marks each.

Part 'B' shall contain subject-related conventional MCQs. The maximum number of

Part 'C' test the candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. .

PART A :30 MARKS
PART B:70 MARKS
PART C: 100 MARKS

the pattern is :


The chance factor will be increased in the new pattern because of mcq pattern of the question. But also compitition will be increased.. due to absence of 1st paper. I think 2nd ppaper is more tough because you have to answer those questions in your won language . You have to analysis a ansnwer in a limited time also in a limited space. but when you will get the four options for each questions through out the NET paper ....I think it is going to be a easyer one.....what do you think????

From CSIR-UGC NET June 2011 onwards, the exam consist of only one paper which has three part, Part-A, Part-B, Part-C
Part – A is common to all while Part – B and Part-C are subject specific
There are following areas :
1. Chemical Sciences
2. Earth Sciences
3. Life Sciences
4. Mathematical Sciences
5. Physical Sciences

Part A This part shall be a test containing a maximum of 20 questions of General Science and Research Aptitude test. The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions of two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200

dear sir i want to know whether the commerce paper pattern for ugc net to be held on 26th JUNE 2011 has changed. Will there be objective paper of 3 hours or it will be same as DECEMBER 2010

There is a news in The Danik Bhaskar dated 28 dec. 2011, that all the three paper of net exam will be of objective type questions. But I did not any information on the site of UGC. Is it true? please make this infomation available on the site of UGC.
