Income tax officer exam conducts every year by SSC (staff selection commission).
Eligibility to appear in SSC exam-
*Graduation from affiliated university with min. Aggregate 60%, or equivalent in any stream.
*Age limit-18-27 yr. On 1st july of exam year.

After completion of your 12th standerd you can apply these post.
First you have to write the civil service exam.In that exam you are must and should qualified.These exam can be conducted by the UPSC services.
Minimum qualification of these exam is any bachlore degree.
Age limit is 19 to 27 years.

Eligibility

Must have passed graduation in any stream from recognised university.
You should be between 18-27 years.

Procedure to apply

It is purely on merit list that is made n the basis of Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I)
Examination and then a personal interviews.

i secured in b.tech 55.45% only ,so can i apply to income-tax officer

I am in S.Y B.COM (with Specialization in Taxation) so, Can I start preparation for the UPSC Exam? How?

Yes offcourse Incom Tax Inspector job is good for female.

Definitely both the male and female candidates can apply Income Tax Officer Exam which is conducted by The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) .
However,there are some Eligibility criteria such as:
1.Qualification:
a)you should have any degree of a recognized University, or equivalent.
as you have done graduation in B.Com ,so you are positively eligible.
2.Age: Your age should not be not less than 18 years and not greater than 27 years as well as for the post of Inspector of Income Tax.
3.Physical Standards (Minimum)
a)Height :157.5cm
b)Chest :81cm ,fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cm
c)Physical Test:
i)Walking:1600 meters in 15 minutes
ii)Cycling:8 Km in 30 minutes
