i am in ma 4th yr of B.Tech and ma branch is app. electronics n instrumentation.I want to know how to apply for various core companies as our colg is nt bringing companies for placement drive..plz help

There are various companies which recruit EIE graduates.Some of them are mentioned below:-
NTPC, BEL, BHEL, ISRO, HAL, SAIL, BSNL, GAIL, .etc

The basic criteria for going through the exams conducted by these companies is that you need to have a minimum of 65% in your B.tech course.Some of the above companies even select candidates through GATE examination score.So, you will definitely have an upper hand if your able to score well in GATE.

The above site contain the list of PSU's along with the their websites.The notifications of all the companies will be published in the weekly journal "Employment News".Each company conducts their own examination at different time but the selection pattern remains the same i.e written test in selected cities followed by interview and medical test.When the notification is released then the rest of the details will be mentioned in the information brochure itself.

there are various jobs for which you can apply . The vacancy available in it is usually published in newspaper but sometimes only in the official website.
All the public sector companies give their vacancy detail in the newspaper too. You can make your application seeing it. But for applying for the public sector company you need to have written GATE exam. Only gate qualified aspirant can apply for it. The various public sectors were instrumentation engineers are needed are BHEL, BSNL, DRDO etc aspirants will be shortlisted based on the gate score followed by group discussion . Then the shortlisted aspirants will be called for personnel interview.
Other than above you can apply for the government service also. There is Indian engineering service especially for the engineers. Aspirant can appear in the final year of their degree course too. The aspirant need to appear in the main exam. The aspirants who clear the main exam are selected based on their skill in personnel interview.
So for engineers there is wide option available.

See there are so many process. I have elaborated here gradually. One thing if there is no on-campussing is not going on your college then I think the college authority has also sent you guys for off-campussing drive. So this off-campussing drive is also a great chance or opportunity to you. So please be prepare for it and I think you will be succeed.

Besides this there are so many core companies where you will get chance like L & T, ROLEX, E.R.T.E.L., B.S.N.L., B.H.A.B.A., B.H.E.L., S.A.I.L., O.N.G.C. etc. For this you have to upload your current resume some websites like :

when you fill up through this website then they want your all contact details by which you can easily contact with them.It may be your e-mail id or contact number etc. So it will help you a lot.

How to get Job after B.tech

Hi friend,

Don't worry as your branch is very opportunistic , you will able to find good job even if your college doesn't support you.

What you should prepare before applying anywhere:-

-Aptitude , logical reasoning, verbal and non verbal should be excellent.

-Develop good proficiency over English.

-Gain mastery over technical knowledge of your field.

-Develop Soft skill.

-Try to remove your fear for interview , if any.

Now, How to apply:-

-Prepare excellent resume by use of internet and also with help of senior faculty of your college.

-Now, go to the websites of the company where you are interested, find out career option there and post your resume there.

-If you get shortlisted then they will call you for interview.

-Post this resume in as many companies as you can of your choice.

-Keep watch on off-campus interview conducted by different companies and apply there.

-Be in touch with your friend of other colleges.

How to get into govt. companies:-

-All the govt. companies publish recruitment notification in all the major newspaper all over India.

-Apply there., If your eligibility meets then you will be allowed to sit in their exam.

-If you get shortlisted from this exam, you will be called for interview.

-If you get through the interview,you will be offer a job.

so, the conclusion is if you get mastery over all above mentioned topics and must gain proper technical knowledge of your field, then you can get any where with out your college support.

i'm doing my btech 4th year in electronics and instrumentation..u jst said tat we can post our resume in the company...can u please tell me the name of the core companies where i can do tat..

in instrumentaton itself there r msny fields ... so can u suggest me some fields where freshers are given preferences?

You need to keep a watch on employment news for job opportunities.

You can also ask your placement cell to invite companies to your campus.

Make a good resume and post it on various job portals.

Also mail your CV to your alumni and various other contacts and ask them to push your CV to respective companies.

Electronics and Instrumentation companies takes both girls and boys. So you need not worry.

basically there are many companies providing inturns for students..!!
first thing is that we should any person working in the company to refer us..!
we can approach the HR dept ... with the help of the person who refers us...so that we can get a chance to do our inturn....!
