How to become a collector after completing B.Tech(ECE)?


i m doing engineering.i m in 3rd year E.c.i wnt to knw dat how become collector after engineering?

To become "Collector" you have to clear civil service exam and then choose IAS cadre.

Eligibility :
21-30 yrs old.
Graduation or Btech is the minimum in any field.

Every year Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Services Examination.

Those who qualify this examination get one of the following services according
to their preference and merit rank in the examination.

(i) Indian Administrative Service.
(ii) Indian Foreign Service.
(iii) Indian Police Service.
(iv) Indian P & T Accounts & Finance Service, Group ‘A’.
(v) Indian Audit and Accounts Service, Group ‘A’.
(vi) Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise), Group ‘A’.
(vii) Indian Defence Accounts Service, Group ‘A’.
(viii) Indian Revenue Service (I.T.), Group ‘A’.
(ix) Indian Ordnance Factories Service, Group ‘A’ (Assistant Works Manager, Admin-
istration).
(x) Indian Postal Service, Group ‘A’.
(xi) Indian Civil Accounts Service, Group ‘A’.
(xii) Indian Railway Traffic Service, Group ‘A’.
(xiii) Indian Railway Accounts Service, Group 'A'.
(xiv) Indian Railway Personnel Service, Group ‘A’.
(xv) Post of Assistant Security Commissioner in Railway Protection Force, Group ‘A’
(xvi) Indian Defence Estates Service, Group ‘A’.
(xvii) Indian Information Service (Junior Grade), Group ‘A’.
(xviii) Indian Trade Service, Group 'A' (Gr. III).
(xix) Indian Corporate Law Service, Group "A".
(xx) Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service, Group ‘B’ (Section Officer’s Grade).
(xxi) Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu and Dadra &
Nagar Haveli Civil Service, Group 'B'.
(xxii) Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu and Dadra &
Nagar Haveli Police Service, Group 'B'.
(xxiii) Pondicherry Civil Service, Group 'B'.
(xxiv) Pondicherry Police Service, Group 'B'

The District Magistrates are known as collector.
You can become a DM (different name in different state) through Indian Administrative
Services.

The civil services examination comprises of two stage examination.

1. Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSAT)
This is a common exam for all eligible candidates.

2.
2. Main Examination and Interview:
Those who qualify the Preliminary exam will be called for Main examination and on the
basis of performance in main exam candidates will be called for Interview.
The total marks obtained in Main exam and Interview will be added to prepare final merit list.
The Main examination will contain following papers
1. Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
2. English Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
3. General Essay type paper (200 marks)
4. General Studies (Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
5. Optional subject-I(Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
6. Optional subject-II(Paper-I&II 300 marks each)

The subject for optional paper are as under.
You can choose any two of them. The choice is completely yours.

Civil Engineering
Commerce and Accountancy
Economics
Electrical Engineering
Geography
Geology
History
Law
Management
Mathematics
Mechanical Engineering
Medical Science

Public Administration
Sociology
Statistics
Zoology


The eligibility for the exam is as under;
Educational Qualification:
Graduation from a Govt. of India recognized university.
Age:
21-30 years for GEN category
21-33 years for OBC category
21-35 years for SC/ST/PD category

Permissible number of attempts;
4 for GEN category
7 for GEN category
unlimited for SC/ST/PD category

Generally the Post of collector is highly regarded for its supreme powers

you should first clear an Entrance examination called Civil Service Examination

IAS is an central service and also deeply regarded as d most prestigious job..

Like this service there are other 24 services for which a common entrance test is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission)

The main basic eligibility criteria for Civils Service Examination

->Candidate must have 21 years of age

->Candidate must complete at least degree from a recognized Indian University

this is all about the basic eligibility criteria of CSE

As per your qualification if you have completed Degree then definitely you are eligible for the exam..

Now iam in 3rd year BE (ECE) ... i want to become a collector...is thier any difficulty to become?? And what i have to do please suggest me......
