I am in 10 class. I am doing all physical work. And good in studies also. But I don't know about how to become a Commando. And which stream should I take?

There is no such direct entry for recruitment of Commando.

To become Commando, you will have to join Indian Army first.

If you have done graduation, then better you join Indian army through CDS exam.

But if you have completed your 10+2 only, then NDA exam should be preferred for joining Indian army.

On the basis of your performance and skills, you will be recruited to Commando after serving in Indian Army.

Selection for commando involves of Aptitude test followed by Interview and pre-joining fitness test. The candidates have to undergo 6 months training in the Special Forces regiments and 3 months training for normal parachute regiments. There will be physical, mental and psychological tests carried out as part of the training. Those who successfully complete the hard training program can become Parachute Commandos within the Army.

Eligibility criteria to become a Commando :-

-The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

-The candidate must have passed 10th or any equivalent examination from a recognized board of examination.

-The candidate age must be in between 18 years to 23 years.

Selection procedure involves of Aptitude test followed by Interview and pre-joining fitness test.

Exam syllabus :

Mathematics,

Reasoning,

Aptitude test, etc.


Physical requirements for commandos :

Height : minimum 165 cm

Weight : minimum 60 kg

Chest : minimum 80 cm (with expansion of 5 cm)

Eyesight : 6/6 with no defects

I'm having a doubt that to be a commando first we have to join Indian army by filling NDA form
