How can I apply for CDSE?


respected sir/madam,
i have specs can i apply for cdse. my no range from 2.5 to 3.00

Yes, you can apply for Combined Defence Services Examination if your eyesight matches with the below mentioned vision eligibility

ELIGIBILITY- VISION

Male candidates should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision chart with each eye with or without glasses (For Air Force without glasses only). Myopia should not be more than 3.5D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5D including Astigmatism. For women candidates the minimum acceptable visual acuity are Distant Vision ( corrected ) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18, Myopia of not more than minus 5.5 including Astogination. Internal examination of the eye will be done by means of ophthalmoscope to rule out any disease of the eye. A candidate must have good binocular vision. The color vision standard will be CP-III for Army. A candidate should be able to recognize red and green colors.
Visual Standards for Navy

- Uncorrected without glass 6/12
- Corrected with glass 6/6
- Limits of Myopia -1.5
- Limits of Hypermetropia – +1.5
- Binocular vision III
- Limits of Colour Perception I

CDS Exam Details:

Union Public Service Commission conducts the CDSE Examination. The full form of CDSE is Combined Defence Services Examination. By giving this exam you will get the chance of entering any one of the following academy:

A. Indian Military Academy
B. Air Force Academy
C. Naval Academy
D. Officers' Training Academy

Indian Military Academy:

1. Educational Qualification: To join this academy you need to be a graduate in any disicpline from a recognized university.

2. Age Limit: Your age should be between 19 and 24 years.

Air Force Academy:

1. Educational Qualification: You need to have a bachelor's degree in science with physics or mathematics or you can do B.E./B.Tech in engineering or technology.

Naval Academy:

1. Educational Qualification: Either you can complete your graduation in engineering or technology or you can do B.Sc degree with physics or mathematics.

2. Age Limit: Your age should be between 19 and 25 years.

Selection Procedure:

1. Following are the stages or hurdles you have to cross to finally get selected:
  • Written Examination
  • Intelligence Test/Personality Test
  • Physical Test by SSB

2. The written examination no doubt is one of the most important criteria and it is very important to score good marks in this examination. This is followed by the intelligence test or personality test where you will be made to do lots of activities like group discussion, group planning and other outdoor activities. You may also be asked to say something on a topic chosen by them. Very confidently you have to do all of these.

Examination Pattern:

The examination pattern differs from one academy to the other. While the time you will get is same in all case which is two hours dot and questions are generally objective type basically.

Educational qualifications
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICTION

Candidates who are studying in the final year degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply but they will be required to submit proof of passing the degreeexamination to reach the Army HQ/Rtg CDSE Entry,West Block III, RK Puram, New Delhi-110066 in case of IMA/SSC first choice candidates and Naval HQ DMPR, (OI & R Section) Room No-204, ‘C’ Wing, Sena Bhawan, New Delhi-110011 in case of Navy first choice candidates and PO3(A)/Air Headquarters, ‘J’ Block, Room No 17, Opp Vayu Bhawan, Motilal Nehru Marg, New Delhi-110011 in case of Air Force first choice candidates by the following dates failing which their candidature will stand cancelled
For admission to IMA, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy on or before 13th May, 2013
For admission to Officer’s Training Academy, Chennai on or before 0 1st August, 2013
Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognised by Govt as equivalent to professional and technical degrees would also be eligible for admission to the examination
In exceptional cases the Commission may treat a candidate, who does not possess any of the qualifications prescribed in this rule as educationally qualified provided that he/she possesses qualifications, the standard of which in the opinion of the Commission, justifies his/her admission to the examination
How to apply ?
FEE :
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs 200/- (Rs two hundred only) either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card
All Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/ are not required to pay any fee
No fee exemption is, however, available to OBC candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee

How to apply: Candidates are required to apply on-line using the link www.upsconline.nic.in
Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the website www.upsconline.nic.in
The applicants are advised to submit only single application, however if due to any unavoidable situation, if he/she submits another/multiple applications then he/she must ensure that application with the higher RID (Registration ID) is complete in all respects like applicant’s details, examination centre, photograph, signature, fee etc
The applicants who are submitting multiple applications should note that only the applications with higher
RID (Registration ID) shall be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID
All candidates whether already in Govt Service including candidates serving in the Armed Forces, Govt owned industrial undertakings or other similar organizations or in private employment should submit their applications online direct to the Commission
Persons already in Govt service, whether in permanent or temporary capacity or as work charged employees other than casual or daily rated employees or those serving under the Public Enterprises are, however, required to inform their Head of Office/Department in writingthat they have applied for the examination
Candidates serving in the Armed Forces are required to inform their Commanding Officer in writing that they have applied for this examination
They are also required to submit NOC in this regard at the time of SSB interview
The online applications can be filled upto 02nd July, 2012 , upto 11.59 p.m. after which the link will be disabled
The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination
The e-Admission certificate will be made available in the UPSC website www.upsc.gov.in for downloading by candidates
No admission certificate will be sent by post
If a candidate does not receive his/her e-Admission certificate or any other communication regarding his/her candidature for the examination three weeks before the commencement of the examination, he/she should at once contact the commission
Information in this regard can also be obtained from the Facilitation Counter located in the Commission’s Office either in person or over Tele 011-23381125/011-23385271/011-23098543
In case no communication is received in the Commission’s Office from the candidate regardingnon-receipt of his/ her e-admission certificate at least 3 weeks before the examination, he/she himself/herself will be solely responsible for non receipt of his/her e-admission certificate
No candidate will ordinarily be allowed to take the examination unless he/she holds an e-admission certificate for the examination
On receipt of admission certificate, check it carefully and bring discrepancies/errors, if any, to the notice of UPSC immediately
The courses to which the candidates are admittedwill be according to their eligibility as per age and educational qualifications for different courses and the preferences given by the candidates
Candidates must ensure that their e-mail IDs given in their applications are valid and active
