hi,
You can join Indian Army after B.A through Combine Defence Service Exam(C.D.S.E)

C.D.S.E exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in the year.

Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass graduation with any subject from recognized university
> Age limit:-19-24 year
> Medically fit

There are 3 steps of selection:-
-Written exam.
-Interview
-medical exam

Hello Friend,
For Indian Army you have to appear for Combined Defense Service exams conducted by UPSC. The forms will be available from 02.06.2012 till 02.07.2012 for the written test to be held on 16.09.2012. You have to fill the form in order to sit for the exams. For Indian Army minimum age limit is 19 and maximum is 24.

If your interested to apply for Indian Army after completing your B.A course then , You may apply for CDS Examination which is conducted by UPSC .

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service . This Examination is conducted by USPC Union Public Service Commission for every twice in a year .

Eligibility criteria :-

You should be citizen of India .

You should be Unmarried Male candidate .

Educational Qualification :-

For Army or Officer Training Academy :- You should complete bachelor degree in any discipline from recognized university . Your age should be 19 years to 24 years .

For Navy and Airforce Academy :- You should be complete bachelor degree in science stream with physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering from recognized university .

Age Limit :-

For Army Academy :- Your age should be 19 years to 24 years
For Navy Academy :- Your age should be 19 years to 22 years
For Airforce Academy :- Your age should be 19 years to 23 years
Officer Training Academy :- Your age should be 19 years to 25 years


CDS 2012 Important Dates:

Combined Defence Service ( 1 ):-

-Date of Notification :- 29.10.2011
-Last Date for Receipt of Applications :- 28.11.2011
-Date of Examination :- 12.02.2012

Combined Defence Service ( 2 ):-

-Date of Notification :- 02.06.2012
-Last Date for Receipt of Applications :- 02.07.2012
-Date of Examination :- 16.09.2012

If you want join in Indian Army through NDA, CDA and UES.These Exams are conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

To apply this examinations the candidate must have to complete 12th or graduation from a recognized university.


National Defense Academy (NDA):

Education Qualification: 12th pass from a recognized university.
Age Limit: - 16.5 to 19 years.

Combined Defence Service (CDA) Examination:

Education Qualification: Completion of Graduation from a recognized university.
Age Limit: - 19 to 24 years.

University Entry Scheme (UES) Examination:

Education Qualification: Completion of Graduation from a recognized university
Age Limit: - 18 to 25 years.

Dear friend you can join Indian army by
appearing for UPSC exam conduce twice a year (may and December)
it consists of written exam, if you clear written exam you will be called for
SSB/SSC center (Bangalore, Bhopal, Allahabad), it will be of 8 to 15 days duration, here you have give written test, aptitude test, GTO, GD, medical test after this you will be selected on all India merit base
age limit 19yrs to 24 yrs

Training institution:

IMA (for permanent commission in army)

duration of training is 18months

OTA (for short service in army)

duration of traninig is 49 weeks

you will be recruited as lieutenant
promotions on time base

The eligible candidate must be an Indian citizen having either appear for the graduation degree final exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 years to 25 years of age.

As you are from Arts stream you can apply for Indian Military and Officer's Training Academy of CDS.

If you are interested you can apply for CDS-II 2012 exam, the notification for which will come out in the month of June 2012 followed by exam in the month of September 2012.
