If i want to became an income tax officer is it compulsory to take maths

SSC (Staff Selection Commission) conducts Income Tax Officer exam every year.

The eligibility criteria required to be eligible for the Income Tax Officer exam are as under:-

-The candidate must have any degree from a recognized university.

-The candidate age limit to apply for the exam is from 18 years to 27 years.There is relaxation in upper age limit for for OBC candidates by 3 years and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

The selection exam for the post of Income tax officer is held in three stages.

Stage 1: Written Objective type Examination (Tier 1) is of 200 marks and time duration for the exam is 2 hours.The pattern of questions are as under :-

I General Intelligence + Reasoning - 50 marks
II Gen.Awareness- 50 marks
III Quantitative Aptitude - 50 marks
IV English Comprehension - 50 marks


Stage 2 : Written Objective type Examination (Tier 2)

I.Quantitative Abilities : 200 marks (100 Questions)
Duration: 2 hours

II.English Language & Comprehension: 200 marks.
Duration : 2 hours
Total Marks : 400


Stage 3: Personality test/Interview is for 100 Marks.

To become an Income Tax Officer you have to clear the SSC Combined Graduate Level Exams.
This Exam is conducted every Year in the month of JULY & notification comes out in March-April.

SSC Combined Level Exams are conducted in three Tiers.

Tier 1 -You have to first appear in Tier 1 written exams and clear it.
Tier 2 -After clearing Tier 1 you become eligible to appear in Tier 2 exams.
Tier 3 -Interviews are conducted for candidates successful in Tier 2 exams.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification - Minimum qualification is Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University.

Age Limit- 18-27yrs in general category,for OBC relaxation of upper age limit by 3yrs and for SC/ST by 5yrs.
