How can I get a lateral entry in TN or AIEEE college?What's the age limit and other guidelines for the same? I'm in 5th sem of diploma(Auto Engineering) in Sankara Polytechnic at Coimbatore and interested in pursuing Engineering degree
I am in 5th sem of Diploma in Auto Engg in Sankara Polytechnic at Coimbatore and am interested in pursuing Engg Degree. Are there age limits & other guidelines for Lateral Entry in TN Engg / AIEEE colleges? Can I have them please?

Hi.. it is possible to get lateral entry through AIEEE. But now you have to pass JEE main for the same as from 2012 AIEEE was replaced by JEE main.From 2019 JEE main is going to conduct twice a year.The appearing aspirant should be born on or after 1/10/1993.There is 5 years of relaxation for SC/ST/PWD aspirants.

To get admissions to Direct second Year of B.E/B.TECH Degree Courses (Lateral entry) as you call it, you are eligible to apply for it as soon as you complete your diploma course.
You can apply to any of the universities in tamilnadu for lateral entry through the directorate of technical education of tamilnadu. Admission process is centralised as of now, and no age limit to apply. Anyone who has completed Diploma?BSc courses can apply for Lateral entry to B.E./B.TECH . Hope this answers all your questions.
