Quote:
For appearing for NDA exam, you must fulfill age, qualification and physical standards criteria. The details of each of them have been mentioned below. Eligibility criteria: Must be an Indian or a subject of Bhutan or Nepal or Tibetan refugee. Age criteria: Only unmarried candidates are allowed to give NDA Examination. You DOB i.e. Date Of Birth shouldn't fall before 2nd of July 1996 and not later than 1st July 1999. Qualification criteria:
Looking at your Date of birth which is 17th of January 1996, then you fall before 2nd of July 1996 therefore doors from NDA have been closed for your to enter into Armed forces, but don't get disheartened being over aged, there are many options from where you can step in like TGC being in final year of Engineering or even after getting passed out. CDS and SSC are other options from where you can fulfill your desire of getting selected in Armed forces. |

No you are not eligible for the NDA examination conducted by the UPSC twice in a year .The basic eligibilty criteria is :-
* Candidates who have passed the +2 board examination from a recognised board . * The age of the candidates must be 16.5- 19 years old . * Candidated must have Physics , Mathematics and English as main paper or Commerce stream students having mathematics as main subjects are also eligible . The examination is conducted in two parts - *Written . *SSB . So you have to wait for your B.tech degree to apply for CDS and AFCAT . |

Re: How can I join Armed Forces being 1st year Engineering student?
As you DOB is 17/01/1996 ,you are not eligible to apply for NDA examination because your DOB doesn't lie in required duration which is going to held in month of September this year.
But don't you loose hope, there is another way possible to join Armed Forces . After completing your B.Tech degree you need if you will get required percentage in B.Tech, to apply a form which just need to clear SSB interview then you will get chance to join Armed Forces. Labor hard ,don't think of past ,make your own path in future to get success. |

Re: How can I join Armed Forces being 1st year Engineering student?
NDA stands for National Defence Academy and it is the entrance examination conducted by the UPSC and it provides a best opportunity who want to join defence services to serve for the country .
* The eligibility criteria is aspirants who have passed the 10+2 board examination from a recognised university with Mathematics , Physics and English can put their application . * Above it the candidates age must be 16.5-19 years . * Candidates should be unmarrried Indian citizen . Since you do not fulfill the age criteria . So you are not eligible for it . But you have opportunity to make your dream of serving the nation come true by qualifying the CDS examination for which you are eligible after the B.Tech . |

Re: How can I join Armed Forces being 1st year Engineering student?
NDA is the National Defense Academy. The entrance exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice every year.
Eligibility for NDA 2 2015: 1. Academic Qualification: >>Candidate must have done 10+2 or appearing for it from a recognized board. For Indian Navy and Air Force, you must have studied physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level. 2. Age criteria: For NDA 2, you must not be born before January 1996 and not after July 1998. The notification is not out yet, it is tentative date of birth for NDA. So, you will be eligible for NDA 2 only because the age limit for the NDA is 16.5-19.5 years for candidates of every category. 3. Only unmarried male candidates can apply for the exam. You can apply for the NDA 2 exam from June 20, 2015 at the official website of UPSC that is www.upsconline.nic.in. The application fee is Rs 100. Entrance exam is on 27/09/2015 and last date for applying is 17/07/2015. For any more details or previous years papers of NDA, you can visit www.upsc.gov.in. |

Re: How can I join Armed Forces being 1st year Engineering student?
Being a first year engineering student, there are two options for you to join Indian Armed forces:
1. NDA/NA entrance exam: ~~10+2 passed or appearing candidates can apply for the exam. ~~The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years. As your date of birth is 17/01/1996, you can apply for the NDA 2 in 2015, the application starts from 20/06/2015. ~~You must be unmarried male Indian. 2. Technical Entry scheme. If you have scored better percentage of marks in 10+2 board exams as well as in PCM subjects you can directly apply for the TES at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. Candidates are selected on the basis of percentage of marks in PCM subjects. |

Re: How can I join Armed Forces being 1st year Engineering student?
Give NDA exam, after clearing NDA you will be called for SSB interview (5 days + medical exam), you can take leave for that time from college and attend interview,
If cleared, then you can join at NDA and leave this course. As you are doing Engg, there is one Technical Entry exam also, on the basis of class 12th, and process is similar to NDA, but no written test, directly SSB interview, after clearing interview, you will be enrolled for Engineering degree, and fees and other things will be paid by Army/Airforce/Navy (depending on which Technical entry you qualify), After completing degree you will be appointed as Technical Officer. Good Luck! |
