To join Armed Forced , you should have a completed graduate from a recognized University and those who are completed graduate degree can apply for this examination .

CDS Stands for Combined Defence Service Examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year .

CDS Exam conducts for :-

• Military Academy
• Naval Academy
• Air force Academy
• Officer Training Academy

CDS (II) Notification was released on 02/06/12 and the last date for receipt of application on 02/07/12 . The examination will be held on 16/09/12 .

The application will be fill the only online mode and there is no offline mode application . Online application are available from official website of UPSC :- www.upsconline.nic.in

Cost of application is Rs :- 200/- ( for excepting the SC/ST female candidates).

Military Academy / Officer Academy :- You should have a completed graduate degree from a recognized University and No percentage bar required to apply for this examination .

Naval Academy :- You should have a completed B.Sc degree with Mathematics and Physics and Bachelor's of Engineering from a recognized University .

Air force Academy :- You should have a completed degree with Physics and mathematics at 12th level and Bachelor's of Engineering from a recognized University .

Stage of this examination :- Written exam , SSB Interview , Physical Test & Medical Test .

Age limits for CDS Exam :-

• IMA :- 19 years of age to 24 years of age .
• OTA :- 19 years of age to 25 years of age .
• Air force :- 19 years of age to 23 years of age .
• Naval :- 19 years of age to 22 years of age .

Eligibility Criteria for CDS 2012

1. For Indian Military Academy/Officers' Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent

2. For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering

3. For Air Force Academy: Degree of a Recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering.

Nationality:

the candidate should be citizen of india.

Educational Qualification:

The candidate should complete the graduation from any recognized university.

There is no minimum percentage of marks required to eligible for this exam.

The final year pursuing candidates are eligible for this exam.

Indian Military Academy:

Navy:

Indian Air force:

Gender:

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for this exam.
