sir, i have a female friend . she is gradute with btech in IT(information technology) . she is unmarried and now she want to join indian army. so plz tell me how can she join indian army. if any examination held .than tell me what is the date of examination and where form is available and how it will fillup.

Hello friend now to join army there is one way by passing CDS entrance exam
1. The candidate must be a graduate in b.tech or b.sc in physics, electronics etc
2. The candidate must be an Indian origin
3. The age limit is 19 - 25 years
4. Only unmarried candidates are eligible

There is SSCW entry for engineering graduate to be commence from October 2013.


The age should be between 20-27 while applying for this.The training academy will be at OTA Chennai.

As you are a B. Tech. holder so you can also apply for Indian Army through University Entry Scheme in which you can directly called for SSB Interview.

Eligibility criteria :

• Candidates who are in Final Year/passout having age between 20 years to 25 years

• Candidates who are in Pre> Final Year Degree having age between 18 years to 24 years.

To join Indian army as officer after Graduation you have to appear in the UPSC conducted CDS exams

Eligibilty for the CDS exams:

Education:
Indian Military Academy (IMA) - Graduation Pass in any Stream
Officers Training Academy (OTA) - Graduation Pass in any Stream
Indian Airforce- Graduation Pass with Physics and Mathematics as subjects in class 12th or BE/BTECH
Indian Navy - BE/BTECH


AGE LIMITS-
IMA- Between 19- 24 years
OTA Between 19- 25 years
NAVY - Between 19- 22 years
AIR FORCE - Between 19- 23 years

Only MALE candidates can apply all the wings
FEMALE candidates are allowed to apply for the OTA wing only

You can join Indian Army after B.Tech. by appearing in CDS examination. This exam is conducted by UPSC and Graduates are only eligible for this exam. You have to beat other competitors to get the job in Indian Army.

Indian Air Force Academy : 19-23 years

You can always join the Technical Entry scheme and university entry scheme. You will join the Officers Training Academy after completion of graduation. There are medical and physical standards to be met for joining the Indian Army. Candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the higher secondary examination and atleast, have 40% in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English. During the time of admission, he should be 17 1/2 years and must not be over 23 years of age.
